Performance testing of an ETERNUS DX80 S2 disk storage system using SPCBenchmark-1™, the Storage Performance Council's (*Note 1) storage benchmark, produced an SPC-1 IOPS™ of 34,995.02. This ETERNUS DX80 S2 record demonstrates world's best performance in an entry class storage system (*Note 2).
SPC Benchmark-1™ test program is designed to simulate business critical applications processing many complex transactions. Pseudo-operational workloads of Online Transactions (OLTP), database operations, and mail systems, are recreated to measure random access read/write performance. In the test program, ETERNUS DX80 S2 achieved $2.25 / SPC-1 IOPS™ SPC-1 Price-Performance as well as the top IOPS result, proving it is a system that combines excellent I/O performance and cost efficiency.
The Executive Summary and Full Disclosure Report are available on the Storage Performance Council web site (official approval is subject to a 60-day review period).
