As the result of its compact and power-saving design, an ETERNUS DX60/DX80 configured using 12 x 300GB disk drives achieves 2,190 kWh less annual power consumption than previous disk storage systems (shipped in 2005). This saving is the equivalent of 836 kg of CO2 emissions.

ETERNUS storage system “Eco-mode” reduces power consumption using MAID (Massive Array of Idle Disks) technology. It allows disks to rotate only when they are required. This enables additional power-saving strategies to be employed which further reduce environmental burdens.

Fujitsu’s environmental strategies make all products “Green Products” as a prerequisite, “Super Green Products” indicate the highest levels have been achieved in three environmental factors: Energy-savings, 3R design technology, and no restricted chemical substances. “Super Green Products” are both superior to other Fujitsu Green products and all other vendors’ products.
