ETERNUS VS900 Virtualization Switch: Overview
ETERNUS VS900 Fibre channel switch virtulaization technology leverages efficient storage resouce use.
ETERNUS VS900, in cooperation with ETRNUS SF Storage Cruiser, enables physical disk devices to be used as virtual storage.
By assigning virtual storage pool volumes according to opeartional requirements, highly efficient storage asset utilization
can be achieved without any effect on server resouces.
Storage virtualization
- Provides flexible space management, regardless of storage device specification or configuration, by creating a single large virtual space that incorporates multiple disk devices.
Efficient storage assets utilization
- Allocates volumes matched to application needs from a virtual storage pool.
- Copies data between virtual disks in cooperation with ETERNUS SF AdvancedCopy Manager.
- Provides easy storage device and space addition without downtime by migrating data without change to server definitions.
