Software ESF Provides Solaris TM with Value-added Features

The Enhanced Support Feature ("ESF") provides functions that facilitate the operational management of PRIMEPOWER and increase its maintainability.

PRIMEPOWER comes standard with a system monitoring mechanism that issues notification of erratic status in the main unit whenever an abnormality occurs. The ESF analyzes the log information received from the system monitoring mechanism and from the OS and communicates the status of the main unit to the system administrator in a readily understandable format. It also provides a tool to facilitate control of the power supply and maintenance of the main unit.

Combined with ESF, PRIMEPOWER achieves even more stable system operation and early system recovery in the event of failure.
