in managing resource contention among consolidated applications. Application Service Providers (ASPs) and Internet Service
Providers (ISPs) will use ARMTech™ not only to improve efficiency and to enforce resource usage limits but also to
accurately bill customers by system resource usage. ARMTech™ is available on all PRIMEPOWER series.
The version of ARMTech available on PRIMEPOWER is ARMTech ShareEnterprise, the most comprehensive member of the ARMTech suite

Resource consumers
ARMTech’s management of the relationships between users, groups and applications achieves sophisticated levels of process management. Called “resource consumer” types, you can set up separate levels of resource allocation for users using an particular application, users in a particular group, groups using a particular application and very specific user-group-application relationships. Monitoring, and accounting information is generated for every one of these identifiable combinations in the hierarchy of relationships. In a user-group combination, for example, this information tells you exactly how much resource has been consumed by a specific user, while executing processes as a member of a specific group. This information can be provided at any time using a graphical user interface and in report format. The resource consumer hierarchy permits you to "drill-down" through resource usage information to precisely identify resource bottlenecks and problem areas.
