The combination of PRIMEPOWER and Solaris 10 maximizes your ROI
New PRIMEPOWER Mid-range and Workgroup servers server partitioning operations are available, based on the use of Solaris 10 the latest version of the Solaris Operating Systems. Solaris 10 also enhances system performance and reliability. An optimal server environment is provided by the combination of Solaris 10 and the new performance upgraded PRIMEPOWER servers with their inherent high-reliability.
New features of Solaris 10
Solaris 10, the latest Standard UNIX OS version, provides Solaris Containers. This is software partitioning technology that
offers you multiple virtual Solaris environments in the same server hardware.
Solaris Containers also enhance the security level and system resource utilization on your system. These virtual Solaris environments
remain separate from each other, preventing the possibility of security threats caused by inter-process interference.
Hardware resources, such as CPU and memory, are flexibly allotted to each Solaris environment and you can change that resource
allotment ratio dynamically to better match workload fluctuations.
Solaris 10 will enhance the performance of your TCP/IP network, while new system diagnostic tools in DTrace help you analyze your application performance and improve system performance. Your system’s reliability and security will also be improved by Solaris10, through a range of new integrity features including: fine-grain control of system resources, predictive self-healing and automatic system monitoring that includes management for problem detection, failed component isolation and process restart.

PRIMEPOWER High Reliability
Your system’s continuity is based on the high reliability and availability of the hardware.
PRIMEPOWER is designed to continually monitor thousands of checkpoints across the entire server using an independent processor. This enables fast handling of failures with component location and detection with analysis of the cause of the problem. All critical components and many sub-critical server components are redundant with hot-swap operation available for fast replacement. Plus at the core of PRIMEPOWER are the SPARC64™ V processors, with Reliability, Availability and Supportability (RAS) inherited from Fujitsu’s mainframe design expertise.
With the addition of Fujitsu’s high reliability software PRIMECLUSTER, 99.999% availability can be achieved with redundancy across your system, servers, storage and network. (This means that
your total downtime due to machine problems can be limited to within five minutes per year)
PRIMEPOWER truly helps you to optimize your system’s ROI, even on the smallest systems. Each highly reliable PRIMEPOWER
server combined with enhanced Solaris 10, provides you with the best in system reliability and utilization efficiency.
