• Processors: Unlike other SPARC processors, SPARC64™ V processor have ECC protection on all cache levels to minimize the possibility of processor failure.
• System Control Facility: An independent processor monitors, instantly detects, accurately diagnoses and provides notification of all system failures. Pre-failure warnings can also be detected and corrected before system failure, with all functions capable of remote monitoring.
• Design Standards: The high reliability of this system matches mainframe standards in design and configuration. It also features redundant and hot swappable components such as disks, power supplies and fans. In addition the system can dynamically manage and isolate failures of CPU, memory and I/O bus, allowing business operation to continue using the remaining operational resources.

The latest 64-bit RISC SPARC64™ V processor, like its predecessors, fully conforms to the SPARC International V9 architecture standard. They also provide superior transaction performance through the use of parallel instruction processing.

Fujitsu's own high performance crossbar switch technology manages all the inter-processor traffic. Its superior bandwidth provides excellent support for high system or peak load situations caused by OLTP, data warehousing or other channel intensive applications.

This very high performance rack-mounted 16-processor model can be racked in industry standard 19-inch racks. Up to two of these servers can be installed in the same rack. This makes them ideally suited for data center deployment as cost effective 24x7 database and application servers, in either fail-over or mutual standby cluster configurations.
