High Reliability
- Processors: Unlike other SPARC processors, SPARC64™ GP processor have ECC protection on all cache levels to minimize the possibility
of processor failure.
- System Control Facility: An independent processor monitors, instantly detects, accurately diagnoses and provides notification of all system failures.
Pre-failure warnings can also be detected and corrected before system failure, with all functions capable of remote monitoring.
- Design Standards: The high reliability of this system matches mainframe standards in design and configuration. It also features redundant and
hot swappable components such as disks, power supplies and fans. In addition the system can dynamically manage and isolate
failures of CPU, memory and I/O bus, allowing business operation to continue using the remaining operational resources.
Compatibility and Scalability
The latest 64-bit RISC SPARC64™ GP processor , like their predecessors, fully conform to the SPARC International V9
architecture standard. They also provide superior transaction performance through the use of parallel instruction processing.
Fujitsu's own high performance crossbar switch technology manages all the inter-processor traffic. Its superior bandwidth
provides excellent support for high system or peak load situations caused by OLTP, database searching, web streaming or other
channel intensive applications.

To provide for flexibility in systems installation, Fujitsu provides predestal, 4U rackmount and 10U rackmount versions of
PRIMEPOWER 400, In particular the 4U rackmount model can be stacked up to 9 high in a single 36U/19-inch rack. This makes
it very suitable for ISP/ASP or corporate data center use. It can also address up to more than 60TB of data storage with ease
and can be used either as an application engine, or as a compute node in a cluster or for dedicated fail-over high availability
systems.
