Executive Vice President, Sun Microsystems

John Fowler:
I'm joined today by Nori Toyoki, President of Fujitsu's server systems unit, our long time strategic partner. Our 20 year
relationship is a successful collaboration on the design and marketing of SPARC/Solaris servers. Today, Toyoki-san and I will
discuss the M3000 server, the newest addition to the M-series server family. Welcome Toki-san!

Noriyuki Toyoki:
I am happy to be here today, John. I can not believe that it has been s almost a year and a half since we launched the SPARC64
VI-based servers, the M4000 to M9000 together. In July, we enhanced the product portfolio with SPARC64 VII processors. Today,
marks yet another milestone in our strategic relationship. The availability of the new SPARC Enterprise M3000 server.

John Fowler:
Yes, with the M3000 server our customers can standardize on a mainframe-class architecture, at an entry level price point,
and scale up as their business grows. Also, for our customers running single threaded applications, the M3000 is the ideal
system that will maximize the performance of these applications.

Noriyuki Toyoki:
The M3000 server expands the SPARC Enterprise product portfolio and has mission critical features of the enterprise M-series
family. Now our customers can scale from 1CPU up to 64 CPU's all within one product family. In addition, the M3000 is designed
with the recently introduced world record holding SPARC64 VII processor found in the M4000-M9000 servers.
John Fowler:
Since we introduced the SPARC Enterprise servers they have achieved numerous record breaking benchmarks for example TPC-H,
and SAP. Not to mention being the world's largest datawarehouse and have set a performance record in verifying the worlds
largest known prime number. These are exciting products for Sun, Fujitsu, and our customers!
Noriyuki Toyoki:
That's right. So when only mission-critical class systems will do, the M3000 server delivers 24x7 availability at a value
price point. The M3000 also offers 2x the performance at 1/2 power and 1/2 the space compared to previous generation system.

John Fowler:
That's important today, since many businesses are faced with current economic and datacenter realities like limited space,
power and cooling. Many mid-size companies just can't afford to compromise on RAS but need to adhere to a strict budget. The
M3000 server is perfect for growing companies to start small and grow big.

Noriyuki Toyoki:
For customers who need mainframe class reliability and efficiency, it's now available in the M3000 server at an affordable
price point.

John Fowler:
The M3000 is yet another example of our continued innovation with more to come.

Noriyuki Toyoki:
Yes, the M-series has a very robust roadmap that extends well into the next decade.

John Fowler:
With the M3000 server we advance the SPARC Enterprise product line and continue to collaborate with Fujitsu on more exciting
new products that will help today's datacenter solve tomorrows challenges.
Noriyuki Toyoki:
