This was followed by the products details:
“ High-end and mid-range servers incorporate high-reliability and high-performance SPARC64 VI processors developed by Fujitsu. Entry servers use the high-performance, high throughput, energy-saving processor, UltraSPARC T1, developed by Sun.
High-end and mid-range models best suit mission critical deployment. Flexibility in server consolidation platform is provided via complementary combinations of hardware and software partitioning. Excellent reliability and availability come from SPARC64 VI, mainframe-class design reliability, memory redundancy/mirroring, and automated data protection in data/address buses.
High-end and mid-range models deliver real application high performance. Top position in SAP SD 2-tier benchmark (32 core class) was achieved with a SPARC Enterprise M8000. It surpasses both IBM pSeries and HP Superdome by around 30 percent. ” (Presentation summary)
With exhibitions of Fujitsu brand and Sun brand SPARC Enterprise servers, Fujitsu and Sun reflected on their past successes in a solid relationship lasting 20 years and promised long lasting continuation of this collaboration.

Mr.Fowler and Mr.Ito shaking hands,
