Fujitsu M10 Achieves World-Record Results in the SPECjbb2013 Benchmark

New Performance World Record, SPECjbb2013 Java Application Benchmark

The SPARC server, Fujitsu M10, set a new performance world record in the latest Java application benchmark for SPECjbb2013-MultiJVM max-jOPS and SPECjbb2013-MultiJVM critical-jOPS.

The Fujitsu M10-4S, a 16 CPU model utilizing Fujitsu's proprietary SPARC64™ X processors on Oracle Solaris 11, delivered a world record result of 308,936 max-jOPS and 168,127 critical-jOPS, during the SPECjbb2013 benchmark, across the Multi-JVM metric. The result of 168,127 operations per second for critical-jOPS is an indicator of response time performance, and was 7.2 times faster than the previous record.

SPECjbb2013 is a SPEC Java benchmark that contains metrics that encourage competition for both response time and full-capacity throughput. SPECjbb2013 replaces SPECjbb2005. The new benchmark has been developed from the ground up to measure performance based on the latest Java application features.

In addition, Fujitsu M10-4S using a 4 CPU configuration also achieved world-record performance in both metrics, surpassing a number of rival products with equal processor configurations. Specifically, in regard to critical-jOPS, the server's exceptional result of 50,562 operations per second was 2.2 times faster than other server products in the same class.

In fact, Fujitsu M10-4S also set a world-record in the SPECjbb2005 benchmark, with a result of 35,912,688 SPECjbb2005 bops.

These results demonstrate Fujitsu's ability for meeting and exceeding a wide range of customer system requirements. This is especially important as quick and effective real-time decision making and big data analysis is essential in today's business world.

The Fujitsu M10 server is powered by SPARC64™ X processor, which has 16 cores running at 3.0 GHz with superior performance on enterprise workloads. By combining the 16-core SPARC64 X processor with high performance memory technology, Fujitsu achieved record breaking results in both SPECjbb2013 and SPECjbb2005 benchmarks, proving the remarkable strength of Fujitsu M10.
