GS Data Access from the World Wide Web

Companies are rapidly expanding their use of the internet and intranets. This includes increasing the volume and type of data accessible via internet/intranet and changing as advances have been made in linkage capabilities and security.

The NETSTAGE internet WWW gateway (NETSTAGE/GW) is designed to provide access from an internet server to data GlobalServer systems.

On the GlobalServer system an existing OLTP application may be used. Data accessed via an OLTP application may be held in a relational database using Symfoware or in a Network or VSAM database.

Access to a Symfoware relational database may also be provided by Symfoware WebLink. As with NETSTAGE, this support software runs on an internet or intranet server.

Providing further enhancements to its web-processing capability, Fujitsu are providing Java and CORBA facilities to GlobalServer applications users.

As well as linking to the JAVA environment, JAVA applets may be executed on GlobalServer systems. This gives a full seamless interface between the client PC and servers, regardless of whether the server is an NT or UNIX system or a GlobalServer mainframe system.
