Scanner maintenance tips

The following cleaning tools and consumables are available for Fujitsu scanner products.

Cleaning tools

The following are some of the cleaning tools that are offered by Fujitsu.
Please note that cleaning tool contents may vary for different countries.

Cleaner F1	For all models Anion surface-active agent 0.5wt% 100ml/bottle Moisten a dry cloth with this cleaner to clean pick rollers, feed rollers and PAD assemblies.
Cleaner F2	For fi-6770(A) / fi-6750S / fi-6670(A) / fi-4340C Anion surface-active agent 3.4wt% Nonionic surface-active agent 0.2wt% 80ml/bottle Moisten a dry cloth with this cleaner to clean plastic and metal rollers. Do not use this cleaner on rubber rollers.
Cleaning sheet	For fi-5950 / fi-6800 20 sheets/pack Use for simple paper path cleaning tasks.
Cleaning paper	For all models 10 sheets/pack Use for simple ADF paper path cleaning tasks. Use cleaning paper with cleaner F1.
Cleaning wipe	For all models 24 sheets/pack Use this sheet to clean pick rollers, feed rollers and PAD assemblies.

Cleaning frequency:
Scanners should be cleaned whenever their outer surface or automatic document feeder (ADF) has become dirty. In general, scanners should be cleaned after ever 1,000 sheets scanned.

Do not use aerosol sprays near the scanner:
Do not use any aerosol sprays or alcohol based sprays to clean the scanner. Dust blown up by strong air from the spray may enter the inside of the scanner. This may cause the scanner to fail or malfunction. Sparks, caused by static electricity, generated when blowing off dust and dirt from the outside of the scanner may cause a fire.

(1) Isopropyl alcohol can be used instead of Cleaner F1.
(2) Use Cleaner F2 to clean difficult to remove grime from plastic parts and steel rollers.
Do NOT use Cleaner F2 on rubber rollers.
