Fast Responses for Transactions

FUJITSU Software Interstage eXtreme Transaction Processing Server utilizes key technologies to deliver fast responses for transactions. These technologies include the use of in-memory technology for processing, Key-Value data structures for data entry and UDP technology for comunications.

All data is placed in the servers memory cache and is processed in-memory. This high-speed processing is made possible as data can be retrieved without the use of hard disk. Data management is based on the use of a Key-Value structure for data entry.

Using communications protocols based on User Datagram Protocol (UDP), with fast transfer speeds and transmission confirmation technology, the server is able to deliver high performance and highly dependable communications.

High System Availability

Data can be distributed across two or three different servers at the same time. By managing simultaneous data across multiple systems, service interruptions during downtime are minimized and data can be retained. Using this technology data coherency is assured when the memory cache recives manipulated data from an application.

Furthermore, the inter-server communication allows multiple network connections to create data redundancy. In this situation, multiple communication pathways are used at the same time to transmit data. Data is received from whichever communication pathway is used, and the process is completed. Applications don't have to worry about communication pathway interruptions; they can continue to access the memory cache.

Using asynchronous reflection of data to the RDBMS, the entry in the cache and the update of the record in the database, can be linked. The application updates the entry in the cache, using the JCache interface. Following this, the update is temporarily stored in a database and reflected asynchlonously in the database.

Easy System Expansion

Additional servers can be added to extend storage capacity because of the ability to distribute data across multiple servers. With the distributed data being considered as part of one memory cache, data that exceeds one server's internal memory can be readily managed.

Applications recognize that data stored in the memory cache is already virtualized. For this reason, even if the cache server or application server scales out, the system can be extended without upgrading the application.
