16 May 2013 Japan: Fujitsu Semiconductor Develops World's First 360º Wraparound View System with Approaching Object Detection
Yokohama, May 16, 2013 – Fujitsu Semiconductor Limited today announced the development of MB86R24, the company's third-generation high-performance graphic SoCs for automotive applications. The new product will be made available in sample quantities starting in August 2013, along with the related software. Featuring improved CPU and GPU performance for faster processing and sharper image rendering, MB86R24 comes equipped with 6 full HD input channels and 3 display output channels, allowing for greater flexibility in input/output control. By employing the new chip, Fujitsu has, for the first time in the world, been able to incorporate the Approaching Object Detection functionality-which notifies drivers of nearby people, bicycles and other objects-into the 360º Wraparound View System that allows drivers to check their entire surroundings in 3D from any angle.

Tokyo, May 13, 2013 – Fujitsu today announced that Akisai Farms, which will include both open-air farming and greenhouse horticulture, is scheduled to open in mid-June, 2013. Located on the grounds of Fujitsu's Numazu facility, Akisai Farms will be a working farm to be used as a test bed for the Akisai food and agriculture cloud launched by the Company in July 2012, which helps farmers dramatically improve their efficiency through ICT.

Factors include costs incurred by its wholly owned subsidiaries associated with efforts to strengthen management fundamentals, as announced on March 28, 2013. Specifically, these efforts include the early retirement incentive plan implemented by Fujitsu Semiconductor Limited, and workforce rationalization measures put in place by Fujitsu Technology Solutions (Holding) B.V. (FTS).
30 April 2013 Japan: Fujitsu Records Valuation Loss on Shares in Subsidiaries on Non-consolidated Basis
Tokyo, April 30, 2013 – Fujitsu has recorded a valuation loss on shares in subsidiaries in its financial results for fiscal 2012, announced today. It became necessary for Fujitsu to post the valuation loss, because among the shares in subsidiaries it holds as part of its investment securities, the actual value of certain shares declined significantly, and there is little prospect that their value will recover.
30 April 2013 Japan: Fujitsu Reports Fiscal 2012 Financial Results
Tokyo, April 30, 2013 – Fujitsu today reported a consolidated net loss of 72.9 billion yen (US$776 million) for the full year of fiscal 2012, a year-on-year deterioration of 115.6 billion yen, primarily as a result of extraordinary loss stemming from the LSI device business. This was 22.0 billion yen less than the Company's consolidated projections announced in February 2013.

Tokyo, April 30, 2013 – Fujitsu Limited today announced that, Fujitsu Semiconductor Limited (FSL), at FSL's board of directors meeting held today, has decided to enter into a definitive agreement to sell its microcontroller and analog business to California-based Spansion LLC and affiliates (Spansion). Fujitsu, at its own board of directors meeting today, has also approved FSL's decision.

SUNNYVALE, Calif., TOKYO and YOKOHAMA, Japan, April 30, 2013 – Spansion Inc. (NYSE: CODE), a leading innovator of Flash memory solutions, and Fujitsu Semiconductor Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Fujitsu Limited, today announced they have executed a definitive agreement for Spansion to acquire the Microcontroller and Analog Business of Fujitsu Semiconductor for approximately $110 million, plus approximately $65 million for inventory. The net impact is expected to be accretive for Spansion in 2013.
