Fujitsu Reports Fiscal 2011 Full-Year Financial Results

Tokyo, April 27, 2012 – Fujitsu today reported consolidated net income of 42.7 billion yen (US$521 million) for fiscal 2011 (April 1, 2011 – March 31, 2012). This was 7.7 billion yen higher than consolidated projections revised and announced in January 2012. Operating income also topped projections, by 5.3 billion yen, thanks to cost cutting measures and streamlining efforts.

Kawasaki City and Fujitsu Launch New Greenery Conservation Efforts

Kawasaki and Tokyo, April 19, 2012 – Kawasaki City and Fujitsu Limited today announced plans to hold a memorandum signing ceremony on April 24, marking the beginning of a cooperative effort aimed at greenery conservation management activities in the Kuriki San'noyama Special Greenery Conservation Area, located in Kawasaki City. Fujitsu Reports Fiscal 2011 Third-Quarter Financial Results

Tokyo, January 31, 2012 – Fujitsu today reported a consolidated net loss of 4.3 billion yen (US$55 million) for the third quarter of fiscal 2011 (October 1 to December 31, 2011), representing a deterioration of 20.8 billion yen from the corresponding period of fiscal 2010. The impact of the Thai floods reduced net sales by 34.0 billion yen and operating income by 14.0 billion yen in the third quarter.

Fujitsu's Shogi Software Tops Former Shogi Champion Kunio Yonenaga

Kawasaki, Japan, January 16, 2012 – Fujitsu Laboratories Limited today announced that a software program developed for the game of shogi-a Japanese board game with similarities to chess-recently won a match against one of Japan's shogi masters. 'Bonkras,' a shogi software program developed by one of its researchers, Eiki Ito, took 113 moves to overcome former shogi champion Kunio Yonenaga of the Japan Shogi Association on January 14. The match between Yonenaga and Bonkras, which was dubbed the 'First Shogi Master Versus Machine Match,' was held at the Japan Shogi Hall in Tokyo's Shibuya Ward.
