Fujitsu Launches End-to-End Cloud Services in North America

Sunnyvale, CA, December 8, 2009 – Fujitsu today announced it will be offering end-to-end enterprise cloud services designed to help enterprises and ISVs in North America quickly reap the cost and agility benefits of reliable, secure cloud computing. Fujitsu enterprise cloud services will let companies migrate existing multi-platform and multi-vendor mission-critical systems to enterprise clouds. Clients moving to the cloud will minimize their capital expense-intensive investment in technology and instead purchase a service that can be tailored to meet their specific business requirements, allowing them to align their IT costs with revenue. In preparation for a Q1 2010 launch, Fujitsu has upgraded its environmentally-friendly data center at its Sunnyvale, Calif., headquarters to the Tier III level and will also support the cloud application interface (API) specification, which it recently submitted to the Open Cloud Standards Incubator of the Distributed Management Task Force (DMTF) in an effort to promote interoperability of cloud computing environments. Fujitsu Releases New High-heat-resistant UHF-band RFID Tags for Garment Management

Fujitsu Enhances Product-Tracking System for Odakyu Department Stores

Tokyo, July 27, 2009 – Fujitsu Limited and Fujitsu Broad Solution & Consulting Inc. (Fujitsu BSC) today announced that Oh-Pa 1/3 Data Server, an in-memory database product developed and sold by Fujitsu BSC, will act as the IT pillar of the product-tracking system for Odakyu Department Store Co., Inc., after upgrading its mission-critical IT system from a mainframe to an open-standard system. Instead of having to access a disk drive, all data is stored within the in-memory database, enabling high-speed processing of large volumes of data. With this function, daily ledger analysis reports containing over 500,000 detailed items from sales information from the previous day, can be processed in approximately four minutes. By switching to an open-standard system, product sales statistics from each store location can also be accessed through the Internet, allowing for quick reference and making daily sales strategies more effective. The upgrade was performed by Fujitsu and Fujitsu System Solutions Limited.

Japan's Next-Generation Supercomputer Configuration Is Decided

Fujitsu Quality Laboratory Opens Subsidiary in China

Kawasaki, January 19, 2009 – Fujitsu Quality Laboratory Limited today announced the establishment of Chinese subsidiary Fujitsu Quality Laboratory (Suzhou) Ltd., which will offer local quality and environmental assurance services, including RoHS compliance services, on electrical and electronic components procured from China by Japanese assembled product manufacturers. The new company began operations on January 7, 2009.

A Green New Year: Fujitsu Siemens Computers Already Meets the New EU Law Requirements for Standby Power Consumption

Munich, January 5, 2009 – The majority of Fujitsu Siemens Computers’ professional PCs already meet the new EU directive regarding low standby power consumption. The regulation went into effect on January 5, 2009 with a one year transitional period. The law states that as of January 5, 2010, all electrical and electronic office as well as household equipment must prove that they use less than 1 Watt on standby power. Thanks to Fujitsu Siemens Computers’ innovative "Low Power Soft Off” function, PCs in the ESPRIMO C/E/P5730 and ESPRIMO E/P7935 series as well as the CELSIUS W370 workstation are already well below this value today. Around 90 percent of these professional PCs are even below 0.5 Watt – a rate that is not required by law until 2013. These high standards from the leading European IT infrastructure provider emphasize once again Fujitsu Siemens Computers’ environmental product policy and its innovative leadership in "Green IT". Last year, the company had already introduced its 0-Watt-Monitor.
