December 2, 2008 – Fujitsu Services, one of Europe's leading IT services companies, has secured a contract renewal with ATOC, the Association of Train Operating Companies, to continue running and maintaining RJIS – the Rail Journey Information Service. RJIS is a critical IT system which is essential to all 22 ATOC members1, the National Rail Enquiry Service, two on-line retailers and nearly 500 other retailers of rail tickets. It provides the timetables, fares, route planning, ticketing and transaction services needed to buy rail tickets and complete travel enquiry requests; without it no one would be able to buy a train ticket.

Munich, November 20, 2008 – Fujitsu Siemens Computers presents for the first time a notebook from its LIFEBOOK series that uses the security solutions SystemTrack and DataProtect. These solutions are based on a new anti-theft protection solution that features technology by Intel® and Computrace®. Fujitsu Siemens Computers is one of only two manufacturers in EMEA who can already offer such innovation in its current notebook range. The complex anti-theft protection will be available as an option in the ESPRIMO Mobile models in the business line and in the LIFEBOOK T5010 and LIFEBOOK E8420. By integrating this security solution the IT infrastructure provider meets the increasing requirements of its customers for effective security concepts and company data protection. Anti-theft protection has two main functions: tracking stolen or lost hardware and the option of saving or, if necessary, deleting data in the system's hard disk via a centrally operated remote control. Sunnyvale, CA, October 6, 2008 – Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc., a leading supplier of innovative computer products and broadcast solutions, announced today that the Fujitsu IP-9500e was the exclusive broadcast contribution video encoder used by CBS News to deliver its coverage of the Democratic and Republican National Conventions in high-definition (HD). The IP-9500e enabled CBS News to send high-quality HD video feeds from the convention floors as well as Investco Field to its new HD Control Room 47 in New York with exceptionally low encode/decode latency. The highly compressed HD video stream from the IP-9500e enabled multiplexing 10 to 14 HD video channels and simultaneously transmitted them back to the CBS Control Room over terrestrial IP networks with bandwidths traditionally associated with standard-defiintion feeds. The HD video quality met CBS's stringent video quality requirements and was free of troublesome lip-sync issues normally associated with such multiplexed configurations. CBS’s coverage was considered by many as the best quality video from the Conventions.

March 20, 2008 – Adding the BladeEngine, a unified Ethernet and iSCSI network controller to its PRIMERGY Blade Servers, Cafcass (The Children and Family Court Advisory and Support Service), a non-departmental public body which looks after the interests of children involved in family legal proceedings, joins public sector Flex. Flex is the framework which allows Fujitsu Services in conjunction with the Cabinet Office to provide information and communication technology (ICT) as a shared service across the public sector. The contract, valued at £25 million, is for a seven year term with a refresh of both hardware and software after four years.

Munich/Walldorf, January 31, 2008 – One of the world's largest Managed Services orders for storage has been awarded to Fujitsu Siemens Computers. SAP AG has handed large parts of the operation and support of its online and backup storage in its SAP® Hosting organization’s data centers to Fujitsu Siemens Computers’ Services arm. The deal provides SAP with an initial four petabytes of online storage capacity per month, and the Managed Storage solution also takes care of backup. The 200-plus terabytes of data handled daily by SAP Hosting will be treated as a Managed Service and saved to tape or disk using the CentricStor virtual tape appliance from Fujitsu Siemens Computers.
