Munich, September 17, 2008 – Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) can now take advantage of the “My very first VMware” bundle from Fujitsu Siemens Computers: a simple, attractively priced way to enter the world of server virtualization. The package consists of a PRIMERGY RX300 or RX330 rack server with already installed VMware ESXi virtualization software and the FibreCAT SX80 iSCSI online storage system. The VMware Infrastructure Foundation Acceleration Kit, which comes with the package, includes licenses for a total of three physical servers so that the solution can be expanded by up to 60 virtual servers, as needed. Customers can now save up to seven percent by using “My very first VMware” instead of buying its individual components. The package will be available from the company’s channel partners starting at € 9,477 from September 17, 2008 to March 15, 2009.

Kawasaki, Japan, April 4, 2008 – Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd. announced today the development of a new technology, based on optical fibers, that enables accurate and real-time temperature distribution measurement in large datacenters which have multiple heat sources. Through a single optical fiber, this technology makes it possible to measure simultaneously the temperature of over 10,000 areas in a facility, thereby enabling visibility of temperature distribution in large datacenters. Combining this technology with an air conditioning control system will enable fine-tune air conditioning, allowing for more energy-efficient large-scale data centers.

Munich/Walldorf, January 31, 2008 – One of the world's largest Managed Services orders for storage has been awarded to Fujitsu Siemens Computers. SAP AG has handed large parts of the operation and support of its online and backup storage in its SAP® Hosting organization’s data centers to Fujitsu Siemens Computers’ Services arm. The deal provides SAP with an initial four petabytes of online storage capacity per month, and the Managed Storage solution also takes care of backup. The 200-plus terabytes of data handled daily by SAP Hosting will be treated as a Managed Service and saved to tape or disk using the CentricStor virtual tape appliance from Fujitsu Siemens Computers.
