Fujitsu Becomes First in Japan to Attain BS25999 Certification in Business Continuity Management System

Tokyo, April 11, 2008 – Fujitsu Limited and Fujitsu FSAS Inc. today announced that their maintenance services business for customer IT infrastructure attained BS25999 certification, the British Standard certification for business continuity management system, on April 8, becoming the first organization in Japan to do so. This achievement was the result of the consulting support the companies received from Fujitsu Research Institute, followed by an independent evaluation that found the companies' world-class business continuity management system to be in full compliance with the certification standard.

Fujitsu Develops Software Verification Technology for Practical-use Web Applications

Kawasaki, Japan and Sunnyvale, US, April 4, 2008 – Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd. and Fujitsu Laboratories of America, Inc. announced today their joint development of the world's first core technology for automatic verification of Java-based practical-use web applications. It is used to automatically verify if a web application can operate properly to process specified task transactions - referred to as "business specifications", without the need for manually preparing detailed test procedures or test data.

Fujitsu Completes Financial Services Agency's New EDINET System

Tokyo, March 17, 2008 – Fujitsu Limited today announced that it has completed development of the Japan Financial Services Agency's (FSA) new EDINET system, an electronic system for publicly listed corporations to file financial reports in accordance with the Financial Instruments and Exchange Law. As the FSA is mandating the submission of XBRL-formatted reports to EDINET beginning with the 2008 fiscal year, the new system began operations today.

Fujitsu Introduces Financial Reporting Software

Tokyo, March 11, 2008 – Fujitsu Limited today announced its XWand® Tool for EDINET, a new software tool for generating XBRL-formatted financial reporting data that will be required for the Japan Financial Services Agency's (FSA) EDINET system beginning with the 2008 fiscal year. Sales of the new software tool will begin May 1, 2008.

NeoData Opens VSAM Data to Microsoft SQL Server Without Rewriting Legacy Code

SUNNYVALE, CA , January 30, 2008 – Fujitsu Computer Systems Corporation announced today the release of its NeoData software product, the latest addition to its suite of modernize-as-you-migrate solutions for legacy mainframe applications. NeoData provides an easy and flexible route for converting VSAM data to Microsoft(R) SQL Server(R) without having to make changes to the COBOL code. Data that might seem to be locked within the COBOL-specific, proprietary formats of the VSAM data system can now be opened up to the richer query environment provided by SQL Server. NeoData provides a Data Mapper tool that handles the challenging aspects of VSAM to SQL migrations, such as multiple record formats and the COBOL OCCURS clause, which often derail attempts to perform this migration manually.
