10 December 2008 UK: Fujitsu Launches 2.5” Enterprise Hard Disk Drives Supporting 6Gb/s SAS Interface
London, December 10, 2008 – Fujitsu Europe Limited today announced the launch of its two new 2.5” MBD2-RC and MBE2-RC enterprise hard disk drive series with rotational speeds of 10,025 RPM and 15,000 RPM respectively. Munich, November 20, 2008 – Fujitsu Siemens Computers presents for the first time a notebook from its LIFEBOOK series that uses the security solutions SystemTrack and DataProtect. These solutions are based on a new anti-theft protection solution that features technology by Intel® and Computrace®. Fujitsu Siemens Computers is one of only two manufacturers in EMEA who can already offer such innovation in its current notebook range. The complex anti-theft protection will be available as an option in the ESPRIMO Mobile models in the business line and in the LIFEBOOK T5010 and LIFEBOOK E8420. By integrating this security solution the IT infrastructure provider meets the increasing requirements of its customers for effective security concepts and company data protection. Anti-theft protection has two main functions: tracking stolen or lost hardware and the option of saving or, if necessary, deleting data in the system's hard disk via a centrally operated remote control. Despite the market’s anticipated production stop of 3.5-inch Parallel-SCSI drives by end of March 2009, Fujitsu continues its production and delivery of 3.5-inch Parallel-SCSI hard drives until the end of calendar year 2010. This extension applies to Fujitsu’s 3.5-inch HDD series MBA3-NC/NP with 15,000-RPM spindle speed, 73.5GB* to 300GB* storage capacities and U320-SCA 80-Pin (NC) as well as U320-LVD 68-Pin (NP) interfaces. Tokyo, November 17, 2008 – Fujitsu Limited today announced the development of two new series in its line of 2.5" enterprise hard disk drives (HDDs), the 10,025-rpm MBD2 RC series and 15,000-rpm MBE2 RC series, both of which provide standard support for the 6Gb/s SAS interface. The MBD2 RC series will be released in the first quarter of 2009 calendar year, and the MBE2 RC series will be available in the second quarter.

Munich, April 30, 2008 – Fujitsu Siemens Computers announces the second generation of its FibreCAT TX24 and TX48 magnetic tape systems emphasizing multiple green characteristics. Saving to tape is generally more energy-efficient than saving to a hard disk, because no significant amount of power is consumed unless data is read or written to the tape. For the new FibreCAT TX S2 systems, the company has also focused on maintaining low power consumption when in operation, the use of environmentally friendly materials, as well as high and easy scalability, which results in a longer service life for the devices. Small and mid-sized companies can now cover different linear tape-open (LTO) generations with the new systems, automatically save their data with high reliability and protect their investments. The FibreCAT TX24 S2 and TX48 S2 will be available from certified Fujitsu Siemens Computers channel partners starting in June.
