20 December 2007 US: Fujitsu Self-checkout Goes Green
FRISCO, TX, December 20, 2007 – Fujitsu Transaction Solutions Inc. today announced that its U-Scan Carousel self-checkout system has been modified to support retailers’ green initiatives that include the elimination of plastic bags. The new design will be demonstrated in booth #1613 at the National Retail Federation (NRF) 97th Annual Convention & Expo, Jan. 14-15, 2008.

10 December 2007 Japan: Fujitsu Offers Energy-Saving Green Infrastructure Solution
Tokyo, December 10, 2007 – Fujitsu Limited today began offering the Green Infrastructure Solution service with the aim of optimizing the energy efficiency of the facilities that house customers' IT equipment, including buildings and machine rooms as well as incidental facilities, such as for electric power and cooling, which all together account for more than half the power consumed by a data center.

16 November 2007 Canada: Fujitsu Awarded Major Contract to Develop Defence Decision Support System
Quebec City, November 16, 2007 – DMR Consulting, a division of Fujitsu Consulting (Canada) Inc., announced today that it has been awarded a contract by Defence Research and Development Canada (DRDC) Valcartier to conduct the Joint Command Decision Support for the 21st Century (JCDS 21) project. Tokyo, September 20, 2007 – The Kyotaro Nishimura Museum, a museum featuring exhibits and works related to one of Japan's best-selling mystery novelists Kyotaro Nishimura, Fujitsu Frontech Limited, and Fujitsu Laboratories Limited today announced that enon, the service robot jointly developed by Fujitsu Frontech and Fujitsu Laboratories,will act as a visitors' guide at the Museum from September 21, 2007 on a permanent basis. This is the first such permanent implementation of enon at a museum. Since its launch in September 2005, field use of Fujitsu's service robot enon has been verified in various field applications in Japan. This newest implementation is the first for the latest model of enon, featuring enhancements based on feedback from past field applications of the former model.

The companies also signed a one-year extension to the existing service agreement under which Fujitsu will provide maintenance for A&P Canada's in-store technology for the next three years.
28 August 2007 UK: Fujitsu Invests ￡44m in New Data Centre Near London
London, August 28, 2007 – Fujitsu Services, one of Europe's leading IT services companies, today announced a £44m investment in a new high specification green data centre. The 65,000 square foot data centre will be built to Tier 3 specifications (see notes to editors 1) it will be designed with the latest environmental features which, together with an IT modernisation programme will save enough electricity to power up to 6,000 homes every year, equivalent to saving 10,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide each year.
28 August 2007 Finland: Rautaruukki and Fujitsu Sign Service Agreement Covering 23 Countries
Helsinki, August 28, 2007 – Metal solutions and products provider Rautaruukki Oyj and ICT services company Fujitsu Services Oy have entered into an IT infrastructure service agreement in accordance with Fujitsu's Patja operating model. This agreement marks Fujitsu's most significant international Patja agreement to date. It incorporates all of Ruukki's more than 5,000 workstations in 23 countries.
21 August 2007 Japan: Fujitsu and Technology Leaders Release Specification for Federating and Accessing Multi-vendor IT Management Data
Tokyo, August 21, 2007 – Fujitsu Limited today announced that the CMDB Federation (CMDBf) working group has drafted an industry-wide specification for sharing information between Configuration Management Databases (CMDBs) and other management data repositories (MDRs), such as asset management systems and service desks. The specification, which the group plans to submit as a standard, is intended to enable organizations to federate and access information from complex, multi-vendor IT infrastructures. The CMDBf was founded in April 2006, and today consists of industry leaders Fujitsu Limited, BMC Software, CA, HP, IBM and Microsoft.

London, May 15, 2007 – Fujitsu Services, one of Europe's leading IT services companies, has signed a strategic outsourcing partnership for desktop, network and telecommunication services with AGIS (Allianz Dresdner Informationssyteme GmBH) – the German IT service provider for the global insurance and financial services group Allianz. The deal is worth €400 million (£274 million) over five years and will see 500 jobs transitioning from AGIS to Fujitsu. Tokyo, February 27, 2007 – Fujitsu Limited today announced that it has implemented its PalmSecure™ biometric palm vein authentication system at the Hospital for Charged Particle Therapy at the National Institute of Radiological Sciences (NIRS) in Japan, for access of electronic medical records. This is the first such implementation ever of biometric palm vein authentication for electronic medical record access.
