10 November 2004 Germany: Fujitsu Siemens Computers Reports Higher Than Expected First-Half Profit Before Tax
Munich, November 10, 2004 – Fujitsu Siemens Computers, the leading European IT company, today announced an upward revision in profit before tax (PBT) to € 20.4 million for the first-half of fiscal year 2004. The company achieved an overall growth in PBT of 80 percent year-on-year. Revenue remained as previously reported at € 2,560 million or a year-on-year growth of 15 percent. The first-half of the 2004/2005 fiscal year runs from April 2004 through September 2004.

The agreement covers Appear Networks enterprise software products, a new generation of software enabling the deployment of value-added services on wireless networks. The Appear Client will be included in Pocket LOOX portal, where Pocket LOOX owners can download new applications and services to their device. The Appear Server will be distributed by certified value-added resellers, as part of their mobility solution offering. Together, the Appear Server and Client make the download of new applications as easy as receiving an email. An airport employee, for example, or a conference center guest, can access new applications via the local wireless network (WLAN) based on his/her present location, access rights, and the time of the day. Full applications can be downloaded, installed and started with a single click.
