Sunnyvale, CA, May 15, 2013 – Fujitsu, the market leader in document imaging scanners, today announced that it is partnering with charismathics, the world’s leading supplier of platform independent PKI client software, to incorporate its PKI middleware product range into the Fujitsu line of network scanners. The integration provides an enhanced level of identity management security, specifically for government organizations, utilizing the “Personal Identity Verification” (PIV) and “Common Access Card” (CAC) solution for their document collaboration capabilities.
30 April 2013 US and Japan: Spansion to Acquire Microcontroller and Analog Business from Fujitsu
SUNNYVALE, Calif., TOKYO and YOKOHAMA, Japan, April 30, 2013 – Spansion Inc. (NYSE: CODE), a leading innovator of Flash memory solutions, and Fujitsu Semiconductor Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Fujitsu Limited, today announced they have executed a definitive agreement for Spansion to acquire the Microcontroller and Analog Business of Fujitsu Semiconductor for approximately $110 million, plus approximately $65 million for inventory. The net impact is expected to be accretive for Spansion in 2013.

Fujitsu Limited has also concluded a contract with Nihon AM Semiconductor Limited (the New Company) which is newly established by Fujitsu Semiconductor. In this second contract, Fujitsu Limited will transfer this business, also through a company split (Company Split 2), to the New Company.

Berlin, Germany, and Kawasaki, Japan, March 19, 2013 – Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute (HHI) and Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd. have achieved locally distributed wavelength-division multiplexing with exactly defined frequency spacing. Four Nyquist-shaped 25-GBd quadrature phase-shift keying (QPSK) modulation channels were successfully multiplexed to a 200-Gb/s super-channel. The researchers used optical frequency conversion in nonlinear fiber to realize nearly symbol rate spaced sub-channels.
