17 December 2008 Germany: SAP and Fujitsu Siemens Computers Collaborate to Deliver Rapid Business Results to the Midmarket
Walldorf/Munich, December 17, 2008 – SAP AG (NYSE: SAP) and Fujitsu Siemens Computers today announced that Fujitsu Siemens Computers is joining the SAP® Business All-in-One fast-start program, putting midsize companies on the fast track to the adoption of specialized business software. Customers will receive SAP® Business All-in-One solutions preinstalled on the Fujitsu Siemens Computers hardware. This combination provides midsized companies a cost-effective solution, helping them to centralize and consolidate their information technology (IT) thereby being enabled to gain operational efficiency. Global in scope, the agreement will be implemented on a country-by-country basis via qualified Fujitsu Siemens Computers partners and SAP value-added resellers throughout 2009.

These solutions are based on a new anti-theft protection solution that features technology by Intel® and Computrace®. Fujitsu Siemens Computers is one of only two manufacturers in EMEA who can already offer such innovation in its current notebook range. The complex anti-theft protection will be available as an option in the ESPRIMO Mobile models in the business line and in the LIFEBOOK T5010 and LIFEBOOK E8420. Kawasaki, Japan and Berlin, March 6, 2008 – Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd. and Fraunhofer Institute for Telecommunications, Heinrich Hertz Institut(HHI) today announced the development of an ultra high-speed optical switch that uses nonlinear optical fiber to reduce optical amplitude noise, which degrades the quality of optical signals when they are transmitted. Employing this technology, suppression of optical amplitude noise using a 107 gigabit per second (Gbps) phase modulated ultra high-speed signal was successfully verified. In addition, in a data transmission test across 320 km, it was verified that data quality after transmission could be received with roughly the equivalent of its quality prior to transmission.

The deal provides SAP with an initial four petabytes of online storage capacity per month, and the Managed Storage solution also takes care of backup.
