Fujitsu Microelectronics and TSMC to Collaborate on 28nm Process Technology

Tokyo and Hsin-chu, Taiwan, August 27, 2009 – Fujitsu Microelectronics Limited and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, Ltd. (TWSE: 2330, NYSE: TSM) today announced that they have agreed to collaborate on 28-nanometer (nm) process technology targeted for foundry production of Fujitsu Microelectronics’ 28nm logic ICs and to jointly develop an enhanced 28nm high-performance process technology by utilizing TSMC’s advanced technology platform.

Fujitsu Frontech Accelerates Retail Solutions Development with Integration of Manufacturing and Sales

Tokyo, August 27, 2009 – Fujitsu Limited and Fujitsu Frontech Limited today announced that, beginning October 1, the Fujitsu Group will transfer the business operations and maintenance services units of its retail solutions business in Japan to Fujitsu Frontech, as part of an effort to strengthen the company's front-end technology business.

Fujitsu Is First Vendor to Have Rack and Tower Servers Certified for ENERGY STAR 1.0

Munich, August 27, 2009 – Fujitsu today announced that it is the first vendor to comply with the stringent ENERGY STAR 1.0 rating for both its rack and tower servers. In the first phase, four PRIMERGY server configurations will be ENERGY STAR 1.0-certified, underlining Fujitsu’s overall approach of innovation and efficiency to reduce carbon footprint and help customers cut power consumption and costs. Confirmation is expected shortly for systems currently undergoing ENERGY STAR certification.

Fujitsu Microelectronics and TSMC to Collaborate on 28nm Process Technology

Tokyo and Hsin-chu, Taiwan , August 27, 2009 – Fujitsu Microelectronics Limited and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, Ltd. (TWSE: 2330, NYSE: TSM) today announced that they have agreed to collaborate on 28-nanometer (nm) process technology targeted for foundry production of Fujitsu Microelectronics’ 28nm logic ICs and to jointly develop an enhanced 28nm high-performance process technology by utilizing TSMC’s advanced technology platform. Previously, both companies announced that Fujitsu Microelectronics will collaborate with TSMC on 40nm production. This will extend Fujitsu Microelectronics’ 40nm collaboration with TSMC and covers joint development of an optimized 28nm high-performance process technology. Initial 28nm samples are expected to ship toward the end of 2010.

Fujitsu Releases Notebook PC with "CLEARSURE" Security Solution

Tokyo, August 24, 2009 – Fujitsu today announced that it will begin sales of the new FMV-LIFEBOOK model FMV-S8390, a high-performance notebook PC for enterprise customers with the CLEARSURE technology, allowing data stored on the PC's hard disk drive (HDD) to be deleted remotely in the event of loss or theft. The new PC will be available from early September onward in Japan only.

Fujitsu Optical Components and Furukawa Electric to Jointly Develop Integrated Receivers for 40Gbps and 100Gbps Optical Networks

Kawasaki, August 18, 2009 – Fujitsu Optical Components Limited and Furukawa Electric Co., Ltd. today announced to jointly develop 40Gbps and 100Gbps integrated receivers. 40Gbps receivers will be used in 40Gbps optical networks whose deployment is growing constantly on a global scale; 100Gbps receivers will be used for next-generation 100Gbps optical networks. Furukawa Electric is responsible for developing PLC technology which effectively reduces the size of integrated receivers. Fujitsu Optical Components is responsible for developing and commercializing the receiver utilizing integrated module technologies for PLC, high-speed photodiodes, and amplifier.

Kawasaki , August 11, 2009 – Fujitsu Optical Components Limited today announced the development of the world's most energy-efficient (maximum 0.7W), compact Integrated DPSK Receiver with a delay line interferometer and a balanced receiver. Fujitsu Boosts the Fury Supercat

Port-of-Spain, Trinidad, August 10, 2009 – Fujitsu Caribbean today announced it’s sponsorship of the FURY Supercat to participate in the 2009 Great Race. Just over one month ago the FURY Supercat flipped upside down while testing in Sarasota during the Suncoast Offshore Superboat Grand Prix.
