31 March 2008 US: Fujitsu Introduces 65-Nanometer 10G SerDes from Prism Circuits
Sunnyvale, CA, March 31, 2008 – Fujitsu Microelectronics America, Inc. (FMA), a leading global SoC solutions provider, today announced a new collaboration with Prism Circuits, Inc., a leader in serial and parallel interface IP, to develop a single-lane, variable-data-rate SerDes macro. Built using Fujitsu’s 65-nanometer CS200HP process technology, the macro will be available in the third calendar quarter of 2008.

27 March 2008 Japan: Fujitsu Completes Upgrade of Japan-US Cable Network
Tokyo, March 27, 2008 – Fujitsu Limited today announced that it has successfully completed an upgrade of the Japan-US Cable Network, a submarine fiber-optic cable system spanning the Pacific Ocean. Fujitsu's state-of-the-art technology allows the network to carry a capacity of more than 1.28 terabits per second (Tbps), doubling the original design capacity of 640 gigabits per second (Gbps) to support growing demand for high-speed, high-capacity trans-Pacific communications.

Quebec City, Quebec, March 26, 2008 – Fujitsu Consulting today announced that its Quebec-based division, DMR, has been selected along with alliance partners Mutiara Technology Resources and Telekom Malaysia to develop and implement the first phase of a $60 million project to build a 9-1-1 system in Malaysia. Tokyo, March 24, 2008 – Fujitsu Limited today announced its new MHZ2 BJ series of 2.5" hard disk drives that feature a rotational speed of 7200 RPM and capacities up to 320 GB. Sales of the new series will begin at the end of June 2008. The new series is designed for use in high-performance PCs, such as high-end notebook computers and compact desktops.

20 March 2008 UK: Fujitsu Sign ￡25 Mmillion Deal with Cafcass for Public Sector Flex
March 20, 2008 – Adding the BladeEngine, a unified Ethernet and iSCSI network controller to its PRIMERGY Blade Servers, Cafcass (The Children and Family Court Advisory and Support Service), a non-departmental public body which looks after the interests of children involved in family legal proceedings, joins public sector Flex. Flex is the framework which allows Fujitsu Services in conjunction with the Cabinet Office to provide information and communication technology (ICT) as a shared service across the public sector. The contract, valued at £25 million, is for a seven year term with a refresh of both hardware and software after four years.

Tokyo, March 17, 2008 – Fujitsu Limited today announced that it has completed development of the Japan Financial Services Agency's (FSA) new EDINET system, an electronic system for publicly listed corporations to file financial reports in accordance with the Financial Instruments and Exchange Law. Munich, March 12, 2008 – Fujitsu/Fujitsu Siemens Computers is the fastest-growing vendor among the top five in the worldwide server market, according to the latest report from market research company Gartner. The company exhibited a record year-on-year growth of 17.9 percent in server unit shipments. In the x86 server market, Fujitsu/Fujitsu Siemens Computers also delivered the strongest growth among the top five server vendors with 19.8 percent.

11 March 2008 Germany: Fujitsu Introduces MB91460 MCU Integrating SMSC's MediaLB® Interface
Langen, Germany & Hauppauge, New York, March 11, 2008 – Fujitsu Microelectronics Europe (FME) and SMSC (Nasdaq: SMSC) have today announced the implementation of SMSC's Media Local Bus (MediaLB) technology in the latest member of Fujitsu's 32-bit MB91460 microcontroller product series, the MB91F467M. Manila, March 7, 2008 – Naoyuki Akikusa, the chairman of Fujitsu Limited, together with other senior Fujitsu officials, visited Manila to take part in the third annual conference of the Fujitsu Family Association (FFA) on February 19, 2008. 6 March 2008 Japan and Germany: Fujitsu and HHI Achieve Optical Amplitude Noise Reduction Using Ultra High-Speed Optical Switch
Kawasaki, Japan and Berlin, March 6, 2008 – Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd. and Fraunhofer Institute for Telecommunications, Heinrich Hertz Institut(HHI) today announced the development of an ultra high-speed optical switch that uses nonlinear optical fiber to reduce optical amplitude noise, which degrades the quality of optical signals when they are transmitted. Employing this technology, suppression of optical amplitude noise using a 107 gigabit per second (Gbps) phase modulated ultra high-speed signal was successfully verified. In addition, in a data transmission test across 320 km, it was verified that data quality after transmission could be received with roughly the equivalent of its quality prior to transmission.
5 March 2008 Japan: Fujitsu Helps Capacity Upgrade Between Asia and Europe with Sea-Me-We 4
Tokyo, March 5, 2008 – Fujitsu Limited today announced that it will upgrade the capacity of the South East Asia-Middle East-Western Europe (SEA-ME-WE) 4 submarine cable network connecting numerous countries between Singapore and France. With completion scheduled in 2009, this multi-million dollar second upgrade project will further triple the existing trunk capacity of the system, enabling SEA-ME-WE 4 to support the increased broadband traffic requirements along the route.

3 March 2008 Japan: Fujitsu Achieves Breakthrough with World's First New Carbon Nanotube Composite
Atsugi, Japan, March 3, 2008 – Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd. today announced the successful formation of a new nano-scale carbon composite featuring a self-organizing structure , by combining carbon nanotubes and graphene which are both nano-scale carbon structures. The newly-discovered composite structure is synthesized at a temperature of 510 °C, cooler than for conventional graphene formed at temperatures too high for electronic device applications, thereby paving the way for the feasible use of graphene as a material suitable for future practical use in electronic devices which are vulnerable to heat. Carbon nanotubes have properties including high thermal conductivity and high current-density tolerance , while graphene is known for its high electron mobility. Carbon nanostructures combining these two materials hold the promise of creating new potential for material research and applications.
