- Fujitsu Siemens Computers Announces SAP Hosting Has Chosen Its Managed Storage Solution
Munich/Walldorf, January 31, 2008 – One of the world's largest Managed Services orders for storage has been awarded to Fujitsu Siemens Computers. SAP AG has handed large parts of the operation and support of its online and backup storage in its SAP® Hosting organization’s data centers to Fujitsu Siemens Computers’ Services arm. The deal provides SAP with an initial four petabytes of online storage capacity per month, and the Managed Storage solution also takes care of backup. The 200-plus terabytes of data handled daily by SAP Hosting will be treated as a Managed Service and saved to tape or disk using the CentricStor virtual tape appliance from Fujitsu Siemens Computers.

("Fujitsu") announced today that they filed a patent infringement lawsuit on January 29, 2008 (U.S. time) against Tellabs, Inc. and Tellabs Operations, Inc. ("Tellabs") in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. Fujitsu seeks monetary damages and an injunction against Tellabs' future infringement of Fujitsu's patents.

NeoData provides an easy and flexible route for converting VSAM data to Microsoft(R) SQL Server(R) without having to make changes to the COBOL code. Data that might seem to be locked within the COBOL-specific, proprietary formats of the VSAM data system can now be opened up to the richer query environment provided by SQL Server. NeoData provides a Data Mapper tool that handles the challenging aspects of VSAM to SQL migrations, such as multiple record formats and the COBOL OCCURS clause, which often derail attempts to perform this migration manually.
