30 March 2007 Japan: Fujitsu Develops Wavelength Tunable Laser
Tokyo, March 30, 2007 – Fujitsu Laboratories Limited today announced their development of a wavelength tunable laser for 10 gigabits per second (Gbps) dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) optical transmission. As a world's first, the company confirmed stable wavelength tunability and optical fiber long-range transmission of a wavelength tunable laser across 80 kilometers (km), in the form of a XFP-type optical transceiver. This new technology will enable practical application of small, high-performance optical transceivers to support high-capacity and high-reliability optical networks.

Tokyo, March 29, 2007 – The Tokyo Institute of Technology and Fujitsu Laboratories Limited today announced their joint development of a new technology that enables the successful propagation of infrared light through an optical crystal film on a silicon substrate, for the first time in the world. The technology is a result of collaborative development by the laboratory of Associate Professor Kazuo Shinozaki of the Tokyo Institute of Technology and Fujitsu Laboratories, and paves the way for compact optical communication devices featuring the integration of silicon large-scale integrated circuits (LSIs) with various optical devices such as modulators and switches.

Singapore, March 29, 2007 – Fujitsu Microelectronics Asia Pte Ltd (FMAL) today announced the availability of the latest addition to its FR family of 32-bit microcontrollers, the MB91480 series. The new series is designed for high-performance control functions of home appliances such as refrigerators, washing machines and dryers. MB91480 series provide inverter control of two motors with one-chip that enables higher functionality in a smaller space.
29 March 2007 Germany: Fujitsu Siemens Computers Ties up Attractive High-availability Package with Replication Now!
Munich, March 29, 2007 – For a limited period, Fujitsu Siemens Computers is offering corporate customers free replication software when they buy a PRIMERGY server and FibreCAT SX storage system. The Replication Now! Bundle includes DuplexDataManager replication software, which provides enhanced levels of data protection by providing synchronous data mirroring from the server via a Fibre Channel connection to two remote storage systems. This enables corporate customers to further increase the availability of IT systems running on PRIMERGY and to build disaster-tolerant configurations – at the same time saving €2700 licensing cost. The offer is available only from April 1 until June 30, 2007.
28 March 2007 US: Fujitsu Introduces FlexRay-Based MB91F465X Driver-Assistance Controller
Sunnyvale, CA, March 28, 2007 – Fujitsu Microelectronics America, Inc. (FMA) today introduced the FlexRay™ controller, the MB91F465XA. Designed for driver-assistance applications, the MB91F465XA is built around a Fujitsu FR 70 32-bit CPU, with an internal clock speed of 100MHz and voltage range of 3.0V to 5.5V. Based on the E-Ray core licensed from Robert Bosch GmbH, the device uses VHDL code certified by TÜV Nord, supports 2-channel and FIFO operations, and supports 218 different identifiers by providing more than 8kBytes of message buffer memory.

Hanover, March 14, 2007 – Today Fujitsu Siemens Computers, the leading European IT manufacturer, announced its figures for fiscal year 2006 (April 2006 – March 2007) on the eve of the world’s largest technology fair, CeBIT. At a press conference in Hanover, President & CEO Bernd Bischoff revealed that in the current fiscal year, the company’s revenue is expected top seven billion euros for the first time in the company history. 9 March 2007 Japan: Fujitsu PRIMEQUEST Server Deployed for Integrated Hospital Information System at Nagoya University Hospital
Tokyo, March 9, 2007 – Fujitsu Limited today announced that Nagoya University Hospital in Japan has deployed Fujitsu's PRIMEQUEST mission-critical IA server for its new integrated hospital information system. The system is a complete platform for the entire hospital services, including the electronic medical record system and other systems such as examination systems in each department. The new system provided by Fujitsu consists of a PRIMEQUEST server, PRIMERGY BX620 S3 blade servers, and ETERNUS storage systems. Integrating PC servers onto the PRIMEQUEST server enables the time required to access electronic medical records to be reduced to approximately one-third the time that was previously needed. The new system has been operating since January 2007.

The newest Fujitsu products feature impressive storage capacities of up to 160GB1 and industry leading performance with 7200RPM speed. This is also the 3rd product family Fujitsu has developed using perpendicular magnetic recording (PMR). The MHW2160BJ series attains the industry’s highest capacity points while utilizing an industry first SATA 3.0Gb/sec interface on a 2.5” HDD. The MHW2160BJ series will begin shipping in second quarter 2007.

He will continue acting as the Senior Vice President IT Product Services Germany until a successor is found. Richard Schlauri will replace Neil Allpress, who will leave the company on April 6, 2007 for personal reasons.

Tokyo, March 2, 2007 – KDDI Corporation, Fujitsu Limited, and Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd. today announced their joint development of a high-efficiency amplifier applicable for mobile WiMAX (IEEE 802.16e-2005), a next-generation wireless broadband communications protocol, and which offers industry-leading levels of power efficiency. The new amplifier is a result of joint development efforts which Fujitsu and KDDI started in May 2006 to develop a mobile WiMAX-applicable high-efficiency amplifier.
