Fujitsu Develops Technology for High-Reliability Gallium Nitride HEMT

Kawasaki, Japan, June 22, 2007 – Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd. today announced the development of a new high-reliability technology for high power gallium nitride (GaN) high electron-mobility transistors (HEMT), paving the way for commercialization of high power GaN HEMTs. The new technology enables the transistors to operate even at the high temperature of 200 degrees Celsius for more than one million hours, equivalent to over 100 years, under pinch-off condition with a drain voltage of 50 volts (50V), thereby enabling the world's longest lifecycle for GaN HEMTs. Fujitsu will strive toward applying GaN HEMTs using this new technology for the high-speed wireless communications market, such as for satellite communication (VSATs), cellular base stations, WiMAX base stations, and other high-speed wireless communications infrastructure.

Fujitsu Services Awarded Government ICT Shared Services Framework

London, June 20, 2007 – Fujitsu Services has been awarded a framework contract by the UK Government to provide information and communication technology (ICT) as a shared service. The seven year framework called public sector Flex, (known as Project ISAAC in the procurement phase), will deliver on the shared services vision as set out in the Transformational Government strategy. Fujitsu Develops Technology for Low-Power, High-Performance 45nm Logic Chips

Tokyo, June 18, 2007 – Fujitsu Limited and Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd. today announced their development of a platform technology for 45 nanometer (45nm) generation LSI logic chips, which combines technologies for low power consumption and high-performance interconnect. Compared to previous 45nm technologies on record, the new platform reduces the leakage current that occurs when current is wasted in wait states to one-fifth that of previous levels and reduces interconnect-induced lag times by approximately 14%. The realization of these new 45nm generation platform technologies will enable Fujitsu to offer its customers LSI logic chips that feature even higher speeds, smaller size and lower power consumption than currently available.
