Fujitsu Finalizes Acquisition of Wi-LAN Intellectual Property Division for WiMAX Products, Extending the Scope of Patent Licenses

Sunnyvale, CA, May 30, 2006 – Fujitsu Microelectronics America, Inc. (FMA) announced today that it has completed the acquisition of Wi-LAN's IP Division. (See related press release from Wi-LAN on March 20, 2006.) This acquisition includes Wi-LAN's entire technology development division, including all 802.16d-like, standards-based MAC and PHY technologies. Fujitsu Microelectronics has also employed a large group of highly skilled engineers from Wi-LAN and formed a new wholly owned subsidiary, Fujitsu Microelectronics Canada Inc., in Calgary, Canada.

Fujitsu FLASHWAVE® 6100 GPON Platform Enables Broadband Access & Protects Service Provider Investment

Richardson, TX, May 30, 2006 – Fujitsu Network Communications Inc., a leading supplier of wireline/wireless networking and IT solutions, today announced the availability of its new FLASHWAVE® 6100 Gigabit Passive Optical Networking (GPON) platform. Fujitsu has leveraged global experience in the residential and business access markets to create a broadband access platform that uniquely provides industry leading density and channel capacity, seamless inter-working with legacy networks and packet infrastructure, and the ability to inexpensively respond to future bandwidth requirements. The Fujitsu GPON family consists of the FLASHWAVE 6100 Optical Line Terminal (OLT) and a series of FLASHWAVE 6100 Optical Network Terminals (ONTs). Fujitsu and Cisco Introduce New High-Performance Routers for IP Next-Generation Networks

Tokyo and San Jose, CA, May 25, 2006 – Fujitsu Limited and Cisco Systems, Inc. today announced the release of the co-branded "Fujitsu and Cisco XR12400" series (four models) of high-performance routers specifically designed for the needs of the Japanese market. These are the latest products to be delivered through the strategic alliance between the two companies announced in December 2004. Like the "Fujitsu and Cisco CRS-1" Carrier Routing System, which was introduced in May 2005, the new series runs on the next-generation Cisco IOS XR operating system. Offering highly secure virtualization, continuous system operation and multi-service scalability, the Fujitsu and Cisco XR 12400 series provides intelligent routing solutions that scale from 2.5 to 10 Gbps capacity per slot, helping to enable construction of next-generation IP/multiprotocol label switching (MPLS) networks.

Fujitsu Develops Bio-based Polymer with Superior Impact Resistance - Ideal for Use in Mobile Phones

Tokyo, May 16, 2006 – Fujitsu Limited and Fujitsu Laboratories, Ltd. today announced the development of a new bio-based polymer that retains the heat resistance and moldability of their previously developed bio-based polymer, while improving impact resistance by 50%. Fujitsu has succeeded in developing a prototype mobile phone chassis using the new bio-based polymer, which will be exhibited at Fujitsu Forum 2006 to be held from May 18 to 19 at the Tokyo International Forum.

Fujitsu Announces Record Growth of Hard Disk Drive Shipments During the First Quarter of 2006

Sunnyvale, CA, May 16, 2006 – Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc., one of the world's leading suppliers of innovative computer products including hard disk drives, peripherals and biometric security solutions, today announced its first quarter hard disk drive shipment results. During the period ended March 31, Fujitsu increased its mobile hard disk drive shipments for the fifteenth consecutive quarter to 5.67M units, an increase of over 33% from the same quarter last year (1CQ05). In addition, Fujitsu shipped 1.2M enterprise hard disk drives, maintaining shipment levels from previous quarters in an increasingly competitive market environment.
