Fujitsu Introduces 32-bit MCU Series for Automotive Applications

Frankfurt, September 28, 2005 – Fujitsu Microelectronics Europe has announced a new series of 32-bit RISC (FR) microcontrollers specifically designed to fulfil the needs of next generation automotive applications. The MB91460 series is a 0.18µm successor to the successful MB91360 series. The transfer to a smaller geometry brings the advantages of lower power consumption, higher speed and the choice of additional new features on the same die size, or similar features on a smaller die.

Staccato Communications and Fujitsu Announce Joint Marketing of Certified Wireless USB and UWB Products and Sales Agreement for Ripcord™ Family of UWB Products

Tokyo and San Diego, CA, September 27, 2005 – Staccato Communications and Fujitsu Limited today announced the signing of an agreement that will enable Fujitsu Limited to distribute and sell Staccato's Ripcord™ family of Ultra-Wideband (UWB) product solutions for Certified Wireless USB. Under the terms of the non-exclusive sales agreement, Fujitsu has the ability to sell the entire family of Ripcord products, including development kits, software drivers, silicon and System-in-Package (SiP) products, through Fujitsu sales channels. Fujitsu has also retained a license to Staccato's MAC (Media Access Controller) technology for inclusion in Fujitsu ASICs and ASSP product lines requiring Certified Wireless USB functionality. This includes Fujitsu Milbeaut™ products, which hold a large share of the worldwide digital still camera market. Both companies will jointly market Ripcord products worldwide.

Fujitsu Introduces Next-Generation FlexRay™ Controller, Enabling X-by-Wire Technology for In-Vehicle Networks

Frankfurt, September 22, 2005 – Fujitsu Microelectronics Europe (FME) has announced the world's first FlexRay controller featuring version 2.0 FlexRay IP developed by Robert Bosch GmbH. Fujitsu's MB88121, available in sample quantities at the end of September 2005, delivers 10 Megabits per second over two channels. It provides fault-tolerant, deterministic data transmission, which is suitable for the engine control, braking and steering subsystems. It allows designers to apply the advanced features offered by a FlexRay network, while protecting the investment made developing legacy assets and sustaining the reliability of existing products. Fujitsu and Cerner Conclude Contracts for the NHS Connecting for Health NHS Care Records Service in the Southern Cluster

London, September 7, 2005 – After a detailed review, Fujitsu and NHS Connecting for Health signed a Memorandum of Understanding in June 2005 agreeing on the use of Cerner Millennium® software for the NHS Care Records Service in the Southern Cluster, subject to a final contract. The contract signing finalises this agreement. Work on the deployment of Cerner systems had commenced immediately in June and has progressed with 17 trusts in the Southern Cluster while the contract negotiations continued. The first systems will go live at around the turn of the year.

Dell'Oro Group Names Fujitsu Top Vendor in North American Optical Market with 22.8 Percent Share

Richardson, TX, September 6, 2005 – Fujitsu Network Communications Inc., a leading supplier of IT and wireline/wireless networking solutions, announced today that Dell'Oro Group has named Fujitsu the top vendor in the North American optical equipment market for the third quarter in a row with a 22.8 percent share of the $638.5M 2Q05 market. Fujitsu was also named the top vendor in the North American SONET/SDH market with a 37.0 percent share of the $382.7M 2Q05 market, a gain of nearly five percent since the $319.5M 1Q05 market.
