Helsinki, March 23, 2005 – Fujitsu Finland has delivered a centralized authentication and user management service to the Finnish State Treasury. The service is implemented using the Fujitsu-developed SDA mPollux security product. The authentication process is run as a service at the Fujitsu server centre and the State Treasury pays a fee for the service based on the number of authentication transactions.

Hanover, March 9, 2005 – On the eve of the opening of CeBIT 2005 in Hanover, Germany, Fujitsu Siemens Computers, the leading European IT company, announced a preview of its fiscal year 2004 financial results. President and CEO Bernd Bischoff announced that the company expects revenue of around €6 billion (forecast) for the 2004 fiscal year running from April 2004 to March 2005, a 13 percent increase over the previous fiscal year. Profit before tax (PBT) is forecasted to be €94 million (forecast), an improvement of 51 percent or €32 million over the previous fiscal year.

4 March 2005 Japan: Fujitsu Develops World's First Semiconductor Optical Amplifier with Signal Waveform Re-shaping Function at 40Gbps
Tokyo, March 4, 2005 – Fujitsu Limited and Fujitsu Laboratories Limited today announced the development of the world's first semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) enabling waveform re-shaping of high-speed optical signals at 40Gbps by using quantum dots. Optical technology capable of restoring degradation of optical signals to their original quality without converting them into electronic signals is known as all-optical 3R regeneration, consisting of re-amplification, re-shaping, and re-timing. The new SOA accomplishes both re-amplification and re-shaping of optical signals through a single semiconductor device, thereby enabling optical regenerators to become further compact and facilitating higher functionality of future optical networks.
