Regarding Media Reports on European PC Business
Tokyo, February 26, 2009 — There have been reports in the media regarding the future of Fujitsu's PC business in Europe. Fujitsu sells PCs in Europe through Fujitsu Siemens Computers, our local joint venture with Siemens AG. Fujitsu Siemens Computers will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Fujitsu on April 1.
As the PC business is important to the Fujitsu Group, Fujitsu has every intention to maintain the PC business as a core part of our European products portfolio after April 1. There are currently no plans to exit the PC business, reduce the workforce of Fujitsu Siemens Computers, or to close its plants.
In preparation for the integration of Fujitsu Siemens Computers into the Fujitsu Group, Fujitsu is considering realigning the PC product lineup in Europe by concentrating on higher-end models.
