Notice Regarding Impact of Earthquake in Iwate and Miyagi Regions of Japan
Tokyo, June 16, 2008 — As a result of the earthquake of June 14 that struck the Iwate and Miyagi regions of Japan, partial damage was sustained to Fujitsu Microelectronics' semiconductor fabrication plant in Iwate. Immediately after the earthquake, a task force was established, and investigations are underway regarding the extent of damages sustained and required additional countermeasures.
All personnel at the facility have been accounted for as unharmed, and buildings and infrastructure (utility and transport facilities) were not damaged. Although some manufacturing equipment sustained partial damage, as of today operations have partially resumed with support from affiliates, and personnel support from other fabrication facilities of Fujitsu Microelectronics.
The company wishes to thank its customers and other related parties for their understanding and support, and to assure them that utmost efforts are being made toward a recovery.
