Woolworths
Woolworths -Australia-

Ringing up results with Australia's leading food retailer.
With supermarkets established throughout the country and more opening all the time, Woolworths is an integral and growing
presence on the Australian landscape. In fact, Australians have made "The Fresh Food People" the country's No. 1 food
retailer.
What are the key ingredients in Woolworths' market-leading success? They are hard work, innovation, and the right partners.
The Right Partners
The relationship between Woolworths and Fujitsu began some 15 years ago. It has been strengthened in recent years with Woolworths's wide-scale adoption of the highly-regarded Fujitsu TeamPoS5000.
Fujitsu has been with Woolworths from their first scanning enabled store. In addition, Fujitsu collaborated with them every step of the way as they moved through a cycle of technology in their supermarkets.
It has been a give-and-take process, in which the two sides regularly hold meetings to exchange information and ideas. In these meetings, Woolworths may request new solutions or modifications to existing setups based on needs they have identified in the field. In such cases, Fujitsu may introduce systems and services they implemented in other parts of the world to help Woolworths maximize on their potential benefits.

The Right Tools
The most recent addition to the Woolworths toolbox is Fujitsu's TeamPoS2000. With new stores opening at a brisk pace, Woolworths
decided that the time was right to invest in new POS hardware.
The transition from TeamPoS5000 was virtually seamless. After a series of lab tests at Fujitsu Australia and Woolworths,
TeamPoS2000 was given an in-store test. It passed with flying colors.
TeamPoS2000 is shaped a little differently from its predecessor, but the keys and their usage are the same. As a result, it does what operators expect it to do, and it does it faster and better.
While staff members appreciated the lack of a learning curve, looking closer at the TeamPoS2000 reveals that the new hardware is indeed a different creature. Memory capacity, for instance, is significantly larger and allows it to handle the latest operating systems and hardware.
TeamPoS2000 is also a faster CPU, boasting a 433MHz. Because profit margins are razor-thin in the supermarket business, it
is of extreme importance to minimize costs at all times. That's precisely what TeamPoS2000 does with its speed.
Another benefit lies in its ingenious design, which permits quick exchange of hard disks or replacement of the motherboard.
It even allows peripherals to be detached and replaced without shutting off power.
Fujitsu has worked hard to deliver expandability and adaptability in its products to accommodate the fast-changing pace of
the retail industry. In one recent example for Woolworths, TeamPoS handled the switch-over to Australia's new GST (Goods &
Service Tax) with ease. Retailers are always looking for the smallest machine to do the job so they can put extra things on
the counter to sell. Fujitsu understands the importance of profit maximizing, and provides the right-sized POS systems to
achieve this goal.
The Right Choice
Woolworths has found that Fujitsu is the right choice for retail solutions that you can count on. Whether the scope of your
requirements is hardware, software, peripherals or a complete system, Fujitsu does it all. And service doesn't end with delivery.
From planning to roll-out, training to after-sales service, Fujitsu is always there for you.
