Fujitsu Design Policy
Connecting people with cutting-edge technology by the power of design, we believe in infinite possibilities and creating intriguing products and services. Through design, we would like to provide a new way of living that is rich, safe, and comfortable in this information society.

Human Centered Design
Thoroughly pursuing user-oriented design, we place the "human" in the center of our processes, respecting the users' opinions and viewpoints. We always attempt to understand users' characteristics, their work and activities and their environment.
Actual users of products and services bring to our attention issues and proposals from their own points of view. In the course of design, we collect information from actual users via interviews and usability evaluations. We then use this data to reflect their opinion into our designs.
As a result of this design process, our information systems provide a high level of usability, artistic beauty, and intriguing user experience.
Design Solution - Accommodating diversity
Through design, we provide the best solution to the people who use our products and services. Our considerations toward diversity are comprehensive enough to cover characteristics of a particular region, user's preference, context of use, or even cultural background.
In terms of universal factors in design - for instance, derived from physiological and cognitive characteristics of humans - we maintain a high quality factor based on our own research and guidelines. We also take requirements such as regionality and time of day into our design account to generate products and services that are more attractive than ever.
Total Design - Synthesizing diverse design fields
Along with the development of new systems and technologies, relations among people, information systems, and the global environment have been changing rapidly. In order to respond to the rapid changes and to materialize "Human Centered Design," we have been exploring new design fields, including: GUI design, space design, ecological design and so on.
For a sustainable point of view, it is even more important to take the well-being of the global environment into consideration in our design process.
We explore these extensive design fields from many different perspectives, and utilize interdisciplinary design approaches to solve the problems we encounter. Through this type of integrated design activity, we endeavor to generate a new relationship between people, information systems and the environment.
Universal Design - Usable by all people
As the internet becomes more and more widespread, information can be sent and received anywhere and at any time. We hope as many people as possible can build a relationship between themselves and technology.
To make products and services usable by all people, the following 4 principles are being applied to the development of our products and services:
- Provide a wide variety of interaction options to ensure that differences in physical abilities, such as visual and auditory deficits, do not limit accessibility to our products and services.
- Create dimensions, layout, and controls in order to minimize physical stress and fatigue and flexibly accommodate the physical differences of various users such as body type, strength, motor and posture controls, or the need for wheelchairs or other devices.
- Present easy to understand and user-friendly information that takes into consideration users with different backgrounds, experiences, cultures, and languages.
- Design interfaces with outstanding usability - enhancing safety, effectiveness, efficiency, and satisfaction for all people.
