How to Use

How to Use ColorSelector 5.1

ColorSelector judges the legibility of text and background colors. You can select any color on the display by simply using the "Dropper" function. This section describes the step-by-step procedure for using ColorSelector. (The bellow description for the English version.)



Step1

Download ColorSelector from the Fujitsu Web site and install it on your Personal Computer (PC).

Step2

On Windows® Machines
Double-click ColorSelector_en.exe in the Fujitsu ColorSelector for English folder.

On Mac OS X Machines
Double-click ColorSelector for English in the Fujitsu ColorSelector for English folder.

Step3

How to Check Web Pages

1. Open the HTML file on the desktop whose background colors and text colors you wish to check.

2. Click [Dropper] in [Specify the text color] on the ColorSelector screen.


3. Click a point on a text in the image to check its color.

4. Click [Dropper] in [Specify the background color] on the ColorSelector screen and click a point on the background of the image.



Step4

Result of Checking

1. Judgment
Examines the specified combination of background and text colors, and displays the judgment.
o (check): The color combination is ok.
x (cross): The color combination needs modification.

* The greater the number of antenna bars, the higher the website legibility.

Three: Best legibility
Two: Acceptable but not the best
One: Barely legible
No bar: The color combination needs to be changed.


2. Judgment criteria

This function checks the color contrasts between background and text for the selected criteria ("Regular," "Cataract," "Protanopia," "Deuteranopia," and "Tritanopia").
