  • Fujitsu Conducts Field Trial of Anomaly Detection System Using Optical Fiber Technology for Thermal Power Stations Tokyo, Global, November 12, 2015 - Fujitsu Limited today announced that, together with Tohoku Electric Power Co., Inc., it has co-developed an anomaly detection system for thermal power station facilities based on optical fiber multipoint temperature sensing technology developed by Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd. This technology makes possible real-time temperature measurements of over 10,000 locations with one optical fiber. To confirm the effectiveness of this system, the two companies conducted a field trial at Tohoku Electric's Akita thermal power station, demonstrating that this system enables more refined real-time detection, as compared with anomaly detection based on existing discrete temperature sensors.

  • Fujitsu Raises Targets for Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions through ICT Tokyo, Global, August 31, 2015 - The Fujitsu Group is disclosing the results of its efforts to achieve the targets of its Fujitsu Group Environmental Action Plan (Stage VII), formulated to cover the three years from fiscal 2013. Among Fujitsu's 17 target items under the plan, two, namely "Contribution to Society by ICT: Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions" and "Design and Deliver Eco-efficient Products," have achieved results equivalent to their fiscal 2015 year-end targets. Accordingly, Fujitsu has revised its targets upward. In addition, in the category of "Efficient Business Operations: Data Centers," Fujitsu has completed the building of a new PUE visualization tool, which it will use to expand upon its environmental performance improvement activities.
