Fujitsu Honored with FY2013 Intellectual Property Achievement Award

Fujitsu today announced it has been awarded the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award as part of the FY2013 Intellectual Property Achievement Awards granted by Japan's Ministry of Trade, Economy and Industry (METI) and the Japan Patent Office. The award recognizes Fujitsu's technology licensing activities, particularly to small- and medium-sized enterprises, support in creating new business opportunities by making Fujitsu's patents, know-how and technologies commercially available.
Fujitsu continually strives to make its R&D achievements widely available throughout society, based on its technology licensing activities, thereby contributing to the creation of new value.
About the Intellectual Property Achievement Award
The Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award is presented in recognition of individuals who have contributed to the expansion and development of Japan's industrial property rights system, and the Commissioner of the Japan Patent Office Award is presented to companies who have effectively taken advantage of the industrial property rights system and contributed to its development. Both awards, which are presented by METI and the Japan Patent Office, are collectively known as the Intellectual Property Achievement Awards.
