Fujitsu Releases 23 New PC Models Equipped With Windows 8 for Enterprise Customers

Enhanced lineup features four new tablets and other models across 12 product families

Fujitsu today announced the release of new Windows 8 models to its line of LIFEBOOK notebook PCs, STYLISTIC tablets, ESPRIMO desktop PCs, and CELSIUS workstations for enterprise customers. The updated lineup of 23 products in 12 product families, which will also include a water-resistant ARROWS Tab Wi-Fi tablet, will be available for order in Japan beginning today.

  1. 10.1 Inch Slate Tablets
    Equipped with AMD's latest AMD Z-60 APU, the Fujitsu STYLISTIC Q572/F is an enhanced tablet that achieves smooth operation while featuring a thin, lightweight body. Furthermore, the ARROWS Tab Wi-Fi Q582/F tablet, which has the distinction of being the world's slimmest water-resistant tablet running Windows 8(1), has been newly added to the lineup.
  2. Enhanced Line of Convertible Tablet Models
    The LIFEBOOK T-Series of convertible tablet PCs, which have achieved impressive sales results primarily in North America, are now thinner and lighter, and they are powered by 3rd Generation Intel® Core™ Processors.
  3. Windows 8 Now Available
    The new lineup features models that run on the Windows 8 operating system, which offers a new interface while still being highly compatible with hardware and software environments employed by past Windows operating systems.

1. Expanding the tablet lineup for enterprise customers

(1) STYLISTIC Q572/F: Achieves smooth operation while featuring a thin, lightweight body
The STYLISTIC Q572/F slate tablet offers support for pen input, and also includes AMD's brand new AMD Z-60 APU with an integrated AMD Radeon HD 6250 graphics core. With a thickness of 13.6 mm and weighing approximately 748g, the Q572/F slate features a thin, lightweight body, enabling a more comfortable experience for mobile use. The Q572/F also come equipped with a comprehensive array of security features, such as a built-in fingerprint sensor and a smart-card slot, as well as the option of adding build-to-order features, such as a security chip and a flash-based hard disk with built-in encryption.

(2) ARROWS Tab Wi-Fi Q582/F: The world's slimmest water-resistant Windows 8 tablet
The ARROWS Tab Wi-Fi Q582/F comes equipped with Intel's latest Intel® Atom™ Z2760 CPU. With a thickness of just 9.9mm and weighing approximately 574g, the Q582/F has a lightweight body that gives it the distinction of being the world's slimmest water-resistant tablet running Windows 8. The Q582/F also features an extended battery life of up to 10.5 hours(2), as well as Fujitsu's pioneering water-resistance (IPX5/ IPX7/IPX8)(3) and dust-resistance (IP5X)(4) technologies. Furthermore, by employing an IPS LCD display that enables a clear, crisp picture with a wide viewing angle even when the device is tilted, the Q582/F is also suited for use outdoors.

(3) An enhanced lineup of convertible tablets
Fujitsu has upgraded the lineup of its LIFEBOOK T Series of convertible tablets to include new features, such as support for pen and touch screen input. Products in the LIFEBOOK T Series can be used as either a tablet or notebook by simply rotating the display, making them optimal choices for tablets used in shops and other businesses that focus on customer service. New products in the series include the LIFEBOOK T732/F with a 12.5 inch widescreen LCD display that features HD support and a resolution of up to 1366 x 768 pixels, as well as the LIFEBOOK T902/F with a 13.3 inch widescreen LCD display that features HD+ support and a resolution of up to 1600 x 900 pixels. Both models have also been newly upgraded with the addition of 3rd Generation Intel® Core™ Processors and feature lighter, thinner bodies compared to previous devices.(5)

 

2. Equipped with Windows 8 to improve productivity for enterprise customers

(1) Preserving the versatile compatibility of past Windows operating systems, while offering users a safer, more comfortable experience
The new Windows 8 models from Fujitsu employ a new Windows user interface to deliver a more intuitive and user-friendly experience, while simultaneously preserving versatile compatibility with conventional Windows-based applications and peripheral equipment. Furthermore, by making PCs lighter and faster, Windows 8 achieves faster boot and recovery speeds. In addition to faster speeds, Windows 8 delivers a significantly more robust security environment through features such as the Measured Boot virus detection function and Bit Locker Drive Encryption for high-speed encryption, enabling a high level of reliability when used for business.

(2) Optional configurations tailored to customers' unique business environments and plans
All models (excluding Q582/F) are offered in two configurations: a Windows 8 Pro (64-bit) Model or a Windows 7 Professional (32-bit) Standard Model (with SP1 preinstalled). Fujitsu is also offering a third option for customers who are considering upgrading to Windows 8 in the future, in the Windows 7 Professional (64-bit) SP1 (Windows 8 Pro Downgrade) Model. By offering different configurations, customers are able to select devices that fit their unique business environments and plans.

By enhancing its lineup of products, including tablets and hybrid tablets, Fujitsu has assembled a complete lineup to meet the various needs of its enterprise customers.

  • [3] Water-Resistance (IPX5/7/8):

    With the external connection terminal cap tightly closed, IPX5, IPX7, and IPX8 water resistance features protect the tablet from water damage. The IPX5 designation indicates that the tablet can normally function after being sprayed with water from a nozzle with a diameter of 6.3 mm at a rate of 12.5 liters per minute from a distance of approximately 3 m for a period of at least 3 minutes. The IPX7 rating indicates that water will not penetrate inside the tablet and it will function normally after being gently immersed in a tank of room-temperature tap or still water of a depth of 1 m for approximately 30 minutes. The IPX8 designation indicates that the tablet functions normally after being immersed in room-temperature tap water to a depth of 1.5 m for 30 minutes.

  • [4] Dust-Resistance (IP5X):

    With the external connection terminal cap tightly closed, the IP5X dust-resistance feature protects the tablet from dust damage. IP5X indicates that the tablet can be left in an environment with dust particles with a diameter of 75 µm or less for 8 hours and continue to function and be used safely.

  • [5] Lighter, thinner bodies compared to previous devices:

    Comparing the T731 (previous model) to the new T732, the thickness was reduced from 38.4 mm to 30.4 mm, respectively, and the weight was reduced from 1.88 kg to 1.79 kg, respectively. Comparing the T901 (previous model) to the new T902, the thickness was reduced from 36 mm to 26.8 mm, respectively, and the weight was reduced from 2.05 kg to 1.86 kg, respectively.
