Fujitsu Introduces ARROWS A SoftBank 101F
High-spec, water-resistant smartphone powered by 42Mbps ULTRA SPEED communications service, features stunning graphics and improved ease-of-use

Fujitsu today announced that the new ARROWS A SoftBank 101F smartphone from Fujitsu Mobile Communications, the company's first model offered through SoftBank Mobile, will be available in Japan beginning July 28 at shops carrying SoftBank products.
Equipped with a 4.3-inch OLED "NEW AMOLED plus" display that delivers ultra-clear graphics and the latest high-performance video processing engine technology, ARROWS A SoftBank 101F enables users to enjoy stunning video images.
The high-spec, water-resistant smartphone also boasts a rich lineup of advanced features, including support for SoftBank's ULTRA SPEED data communications service capable of downlink speeds of up to 42Mbps, a 1.5 GHz dual-core CPU with unparalleled processing performance, Fujitsu's proprietary Human Centric Engine for delivering the ultimate user-friendly experience, easy one-touch ON/OFF operations, a switch-enabled fingerprint sensor for unlocking the phone's screen, and a high-performance 13.1 megapixel camera.
As the smartphone markets continues to expand and as a wider variety of services and data-intensive content becomes available, there is an increasing need for devices that support high-speed data communications and can display beautiful high-definition video. ARROWS A SoftBank 101F has been designed to respond to these needs and offer remarkably stunning video with an OLED display and high-performance video processing engine.
The new smartphone's high-performance video processing engine brings together a host of video-enhancement technologies including noise elimination technology that suppresses the production of noise to reproduce exceptionally clear video, contour correction technology for determining the contours and textures in a video and correcting them appropriately, and 3D color correction technology, which automatically calibrates colors to their optimal state. In addition, the handset is also equipped with a highly responsive Saku-Saku Touchpanel® and the Human Centric Engine offered by Fujitsu, which provides users with versatile ease-of-use. Combined, these features have been developed with a focus on enabling the ultimate level of video quality, as well as comfortable and convenient operations.
The high-spec smartphone also boasts a wide variety of convenient functions, including a display equipped with ultra-durable Corning® Gorilla® Glass, an 1,800mAh large-capacity battery, water- (IPX5/7/8) and dust-resistant (IP5X)(1) technology, an FM transistor, 1seg broadcast reception, infrared communications, and Osaifu-Keitai. 4. Smart fingerprint sensor with on-off switch
With the built-in smart fingerprint sensor, the phone's security lock can be released by simply placing the user's finger on the sensor. This, in turn, eliminates the need to input a swipe pattern or password, as authentication can be performed with the single movement of a finger, making it easy to take advantage of the phone's security features.

The IPX5 designation indicates that the mobile phone can normally function after being sprayed with water from a nozzle with a diameter of 6.3 mm at a rate of 12.5 liters per minute from a distance of approximately 3m for a period of at least 3 minutes. The IPX7 rating indicates that water will not penetrate inside the mobile phone and it will function normally after being gently immersed in a tank of room-temperature tap or still water of a depth of 1 m for approximately 30 minutes. The IPX8 designation, in the case of the 101F, indicates that the mobile phone functions normally after being immersed in room-temperature tap water to a depth of 1.5m for 30 minutes. IP5X indicates that the mobile phone can be left in an environment with dust particles with a diameter of 75 µm or less for 8 hours, and continue to function and be used safely. The dust-resistance feature of this smartphone is certified as providing a level of protection conforming to IP5X, and no warranties are made to its use when left directly in the sand. When drops of water are on the touchscreen, or when the phone is operated using wet fingers, there are times when it may not operate properly.
