  • Malaysia's Leading WiMAX Operator Deploys Fujitsu's High-Speed Optical Wavelength Division Multiplexer Tokyo, Global, September 18, 2009 - Fujitsu today announced that Packet One Networks (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (P1), Malaysia's leading WiMAX telecom carrier, has successfully deployed Fujitsu's FLASHWAVE® 7500 high-speed optical wavelength division multiplexer as the transmission backbone for its WiMAX network in the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur, as well as the adjacent state of Selangor. This marks the first time the FLASHWAVE 7500 platform has been deployed in Malaysia.

  • Fujitsu to Split Off Optical Modules Business in Reorganization Tokyo, Global, February 17, 2009 - Fujitsu Limited today announced that it will split off its optical modules business and merge the business into its wholly owned subsidiary, Fujitsu Optical Components Manufacturing Limited, through a simple absorption-type separation, as of April 1, 2009. By consolidating the development, manufacturing and sales of the optical modules business of the Fujitsu Group into one company, a more accelerated and flexible operational structure will be implemented. As the corporate split is a simple separation in which the successor company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Fujitsu, the items for disclosure have been simplified to the following.

  • Fujitsu and NSW Win Order for Indonesian Submarine Optic-fiber Network Tokyo, Global, January 20, 2009 - Fujitsu Limited announced today that it and partner Norddeutsche Seekabelwerke GmbH (NSW) of Germany have won a turnkey contract from PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia, Tbk. (PT TELKOM) worth more than US$100 million to install a submarine optic-fiber cable system for the Indonesian islands Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Java, Bali and Lombok.

  • Fujitsu Releases Compact GPON Transceivers Tokyo, Global, January 20, 2009 - Fujitsu Limited today announced the development of the world's first optical transceiver compliant with ITU-T G.984.2 Class C and Class C+ for Gigabit Passive Optical Networks (GPON), offering significant advantages over existing products that comply with the ITU-T G.984.2 Class B+ specification. Fujitsu will begin selling optical transceivers compliant with Class C at the end of January 2009 and with Class C+ at the end of April 2009.
