Fujitsu's SAP System Solution First in Japan to Pass Compliance Test

- Software module for efficiently running SAP systems wins certification -

Fujitsu Limited

Tokyo, December 04, 2009

Fujitsu today announced that the solution it developed for SAP systems has become the first in Japan to pass SAP's Adaptive Computing Compliance Test.

This certifies that the newly developed software module, which consists of Fujitsu PRIMERGY PC servers, ETERNUS SAN storage systems, and ServerView Resource Coordinator VE software for server visualization and automation, will enable customers deploying SAP systems to efficiently streamline the use of their ICT resources.

The new solution is slated to go on sale in early April 2010.

Background

In recent years, companies have been deploying software packages, such as ERP, in order to run their businesses more efficiently. While these packages facilitate efficiency in a company's operations, they also involve numerous distinct applications demanding additional ICT resources, including more server capacity. To address this issue, Fujitsu has developed a solution that combines servers and storage specifically designed for SAP systems to streamline the utilization of ICT resources.

Solution Features

By developing a software module that links the SAP Adaptive Computer Controller, supporting SAP system operations, with Fujitsu ServerView Resource Coordinator VE, Fujitsu has consolidated the mix of servers running within the customer's SAP system, thus allocating SAP system applications to servers with low operational loads.

This ensures the efficient use of the Windows® servers and applications in the SAP system and the standardization of loads across each part of the system.

About the Adaptive Computing Compliance Test

This test is conducted by SAP to determine whether each vendor's technologies are responsive to its adaptive computing concept. The test measures to see if the technology: (1) can operate (start-up, shut-down and relocation) when combined with the SAP Adaptive Computing Controller, (2) is structured to uniformly consolidate operating systems, and (3) has any performance problems.

Currently, only nine companies worldwide have passed this test, with Fujitsu being the first to do so in Japan.
