Fujitsu Wins Grand Prix Award at 2009 Interop Tokyo

Fujitsu today announced that its system products and services have won the "Best of Show Awards" at Interop Tokyo 2009 held June 10-12. In its 16th year, Interop Tokyo 2009 is Japan's largest information and communications technology show.

Interop Tokyo 2009 marks the 16th year of Japan's largest information and communications technology exhibition.

The "Best of Show Awards" are presented to the most outstanding system products and services from among the exhibited offerings of roughly 300 companies. The winners are selected by both experts from the IT industry using strict judging criteria and the votes of exhibition attendees.

From among the Fujitsu Group's system products and services, the PRIMERGY BX900 blade server and Access Management Solution (Simple Security Model) from Fujitsu FSAS Inc. won the Grand Prix award and Special Prize respectively.

The PRIMERGY BX900, with its industry-leading 18-blade design, was developed with four guiding principles in mind: 1) to reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions through dynamic power control and cooling technology systems; 2) to improve the operational performance of virtual environments; 3) to ensure full redundancy; and 4) to focus on the next generation of high-speed interconnects and high-capacity chassis.

Access Management Solution (Simple Security Model)

The Simple Security Model solution enables users to access office computers without having to use special login authentication software by simply installing a personal identification device with user account information at the entrance to restricted facilities. Stronger security measures can also be implemented.

This low-cost and robust security solution is ideal for call centers and server rooms that operate multiple machines in one location.

The Simple Security Model received high praise in the Solution & Services category for Security Solutions due to its capability to meet the security needs of datacenters at a low cost.
