Cryptographic module security requirements. Japan Industrial Standard equivalent to ISO/IEC 19790 international standard, based on the FIPS 140-2 cryptographic module evaluation standard set by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) of the U.S. Department of Commerce.
[2] 256-bit Advanced Encryption Standard (AES)
Selected by the NIST, this is the standard form of encryption used by the U.S. government. AES defines three possible key lengths: 128, 192, and 256 bits. The longer the key length, the stronger the encryption.

[4] Japan Cryptographic Module Validation Program (JCMVP)
The program for validating conformity with JIS X 19790 (JCMVP). The program is operated by the independent administrative agency, the Information-technology Promotion Agency, Japan (IPA).
