Fujitsu Presents Green ICT Initiatives in IDC Conference

At an IDC press conference held during the UN Climate Change Conference (COP15) in Copenhagen, Atsuhisa Takahashi, President of Fujitsu's Corporate Environmental Affairs Unit, presented Fujitsu Group's challenge to Climate Change.

Fujitsu has sponsored the IDC research project to determine the role of ICT in enhancing environmental sustainability, and the finding of this research was released at the conference.

The research revealed that intense use of ICT technologies has potential to reduce carbon emissions by over 25% annually by 2020 compared with 2006 levels in the G20 countries.
Among the G20 nations, Japan is ranked first for the ability to use ICT to reduce carbon emissions in the report.
