Fujitsu Group Malaysia Eco-Forest Park (3rd forestation project)

In January, the reforestation was performed by 72 volunteers. The volunteers comprised 45 people from Japan while the rest were from Fujitsu Group's companies in Malaysia. Fujitsu had been providing funds and implementing the reforestation activity over a period of three years since January 2002. On completion of the program, the 70-hectare Eco-Forest Park would be handed over to the Sabah Forest Development Authority (Safoda) for environment education and eco-tourism purposes.

More than 10,000 Fujitsu employees contributed to the operating fund of the activity which was carried out by an umbrella organization that includes Fujitsu Ltd, its group of companies and Fujitsu Labor Union with support from the Malaysian government, and the Japan International Forestry Promotion & Cooperation Center (JIFPRO).
