The compact OASYS Pocket was released in 1991 as a personal-use model in the OASYS series. Developed with an emphasis on portability, this model had a size of 225 mm (W) x 114 mm (D) x 26 mm (H) allowing it to fit in the inner pocket of a business suit, a weight of 530 g, and the ability to operate for roughly 10 hours using two AA alkaline batteries. In addition to functionality equivalent to other models in the OASYS series, it was equipped with personal organizer functions as a standard configuration and could use online services by connecting a separately-sold modem, making it an information tool intended for widespread application by users not only of word processors but of personal computers and electronic organizers as well.
