- Fujitsu Finland receives significant recognition
Fujitsu Finland has received the Recognised for Excellence award in the Finnish Excellence Quality Awards. Each year, the jury of the competition presents awards for exemplary organisations in four categories. Fujitsu participated in the large corporations category. This marks the first time in a decade that an ICT company receives this honour.

- Finnish Game and Fisheries Research Institute joined in Fujitsu's Patja managed IT services
In September, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and ICT service supplier Fujitsu Services Oy signed a framework agreement covering IT infrastructure services on workstations. At the end of October, Finnish Game and Fisheries Research Institute (RKTL) joined in the agreement. RKTL is an employer of approximately 300 people.

- Fujitsu signs contract with Volvo Car Corporation
Fujitsu has signed an outsourcing contract with Volvo Car Corporation, which includes operation, servers and service desk. The agreement also means that up to 80 people will be recruited by Fujitsu.

Metal expert Ruukki and ICT service and hardware supplier Fujitsu Services Oy have expanded their Patja agreement on managed IT infrastructure services to also incorporate on-site services for Ruukki sites in Finland.

Cobalt chemicals producer OMG Kokkola Chemicals and ICT services and hardware supplier Fujitsu Services Oy have entered into a Patja IT infrastructure service agreement extending to the end of 2012. OMG has been a Patja service customer since 2006.

- VTT to adopt Fujitsu's End-to-End service for computer procurement
VTT has entered into a service agreement with Fujitsu Services Oy on End-to-End service, whereby Fujitsu will manage the replacement process of standard workstations for VTT. The agreement covers approximately 3,600 workstations, whose replacement cycle is circa three years.

Itella Information and Nice-business Solutions have agreed on a business transfer where part of Itella Information’s IT development work will be transferred to Nice. As part of the deal, a total of 29 specialists from Itella Information will become Nice's employees from October 1, 2009.

- Independent research firm cites Fujitsu as a strong performer in its SAP implementation providers report (»UK)
Fujitsu was among the select companies that Forrester invited to participate in its recent independent report, "The Forrester Wave: SAP Implementation Providers, Q3 2009, Forrester Research, Inc., August 2009." In this evaluation, Fujitsu was cited as a Strong Performer in SAP implementation. The report evaluated leading SAP implementation providers based on industry skill, functional and geographic breadth and range of services.

- NCC chose the Opas activity system by Fujitsu
Construction and property development company NCC acquires the Opas activity system from Fujitsu Services Oy. Opas (Operational Activity System) is a solution for corporates looking for improved operational quality, customer satisfaction and business performance. The system uniquely combines processes, activity system and group working into a coherent set from the user's point of view. The Opas system has 850 users at NCC.

Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and ICT services supplier Fujitsu Services Oy have entered into a framework agreement in Finland on IT infrastructure services, initially incorporating the approximately 250 desktops of the Agency for Rural Affairs (Mavi) which operates under the Ministry.

This Patja service incorporates support services on approximately 2,000 workstations and availability services on 125 servers of Alma in the Helsinki area, Pirkanmaa and Satakunta. In addition to the Patja agreement, the suite of services also includes management and monitoring services on servers and data communications equipments as well as other additional services.

Wind power company Winwind Oy and ICT services supplier Fujitsu Services Oy have entered into a three-year Patja services agreement whereby Fujitsu assumes overall responsibility for the IT availability and information security and support services of WinWindD. The agreement also covers end-to-end product services.
