The Hartela Group has signed an agreement on Patja managed IT infrastructure services with the ICT service and hardware supplier Fujitsu Services Oy. This agreement marks an extension to the ICT collaboration that has continued since 2003.
Hartela's Patja agreement incorporates the IT infrastructure services on workstations at the company's premises and construction sites. Mobile services are also included, as well as data communications and server availability services. Hartela uses a Citrix-based system where applications are run, managed and updated on a centralised server.
"We have built a long-standing partnership with Fujitsu and we had no reason to switch suppliers, since our quality indicators showed nothing but positive results. The response times and availability of the Patja service are of top quality. We appreciate the end-to-end service model with a single point of contact and the fact that we have grown to know each other so well," says development director Kari Varkki of Hartela.
Besides cost efficiency Hartela emphasised the user-friendliness and quality of the service during the contract negotiations.
"Although there already seems to be some light at the end of the tunnel, investments in the construction industry are still on hold. Therefore, cost factors are inevitably among the decisive ones, but they are only one part of the big picture. Our goal is to streamline our ICT processes in the future towards greater cost-efficiency through eliminating ineffective functions. We also seek to embed ICT matters more closely into our business operations in collaboration with Fujitsu. Thereby we will potentially be able to achieve greater cost savings, but on the other hand, this model will demand additional investments and adjustments in our processes”, Varkki says.
